Trailhunter 35's - how?

I have an order for a Pro I'm thinking about changing to a Trailhunter. The trailhunter seems better optioned for how I might use the truck and I'm concerned about leg room for kids in the back with the Pro. I hear those seats are great, but I have two kids to accomadate.

The only thing holding me back is I really want to run 35's. I've seen the light (Bronco) and it's hard to go back. Plus with the hybrid I figure I can do this without awful MPG like the Bronco.

However, while I see a few Trailhunters on 35's, no one is saying how. I'm guessing it's wheels with more offset, tires and lift. Maybe remove crashbars etc. Unless I'm looking at this wrong and (some) 35's fit from factory?

I don't want to swap out the OME as it seems good, but I can't seem to find any lift options. I'm guessing the spring adapters for the pro work for the rear, but not seeing anything for the front coilovers. Anyone know of a vendor with a solution?

 

I would think that Westcott would have something similar to the Pro/Fox shock kit, for the Trailhunter?

if you are worried about legroom in the back even a non pro has shit for legroom, a corolla has better rear seat leg room.

 

I had a 3rd gen TRD Pro and had to trade it for this reason. Couldn't get two rear facing child seats to work. Thankfully they are forward facing now because I miss my 3rd gen so much! I don't mind the minimal leg room, its not a luxury vehicle. But I want the kids to at least fit for 5+ years and it seems like the iso seats make that even harder than it currently is.

 

I thought I remember seeing a picture from an ARB booth of a Trailhunter that had 35s on the stock wheels. I bet it’s possible. That said, Peak Suspension has a 2” front 1” rear kit for the Trailhunter that I’m sure would make fitting 35s easy, even with higher offset wheels. Removing crash plate might still be necessary though.

Ah you're right, Peak has a front lift. Sadly the rear lift says no trailhunter. But it's a start. ARB didn't say how they lifted. But given they make OME, I'm guessing they have their own struts to do this.

Trailhunter comes with BP-51 from OME which is different than stock. I've seen someone post that 34's rubbed a little so I dont think it can be done on stock for Trailhunter.

 

Trailhunter shocks are not BP-51.

Currently running a readylift sst 2.5” kit and allowed me to run 35x11.50 toyos on mine. I have zero rub currently and it’s only gonna get better as my icon stage 11 kit gets installed in 2 weeks!

 

I read the TH has a larger bore OME shock than the 51s - they are 63.5mm (2.5”)

 

People say no rub, how about on 12.5" wides, full-lock reverse? Any rubbing?

None of these are trailhunters (with OME suspension).

 

Won’t be much different, except you probably won’t have to buy a lift kit..

You figure wrong. They hybrid in the Taco and Tundra are NOT for MPG. It's a powerboost. You will absolutely get dogshit fuel economy if you put big heavy tires on.
