New here. New to the truck world as well. I have a Trailhunter on the way. 3 weeks out or so. I know. Why. It will do more than just grocery runs haha. I want to run a Dometic fridge/freezer, chase lights and few more accessories. I’ve seen some run a Switch Pro alone and I’ve seen dual battery setups. Looking for recommendations. Still doing research. But any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your truck will already come with two batteries. It will even start the generator to charge both of them.

There is no "second" battery, there's the EV Cell and next to it the truck battery, all under the passenger's seat.
Also, systems need to be ON in order to check and charge batteries. Generator/Motor seems to confuse you.

OP, a little more since I was probably unclear as to your concerns. As was stated above, you already have two sets of batteries. One for the EV portion and a smaller 12V battery to run the controls and accessories. The truck needs to be ON and in Park with the e-brake ON. At any time you open the driver's door, a pop up menu will appear on your instrument panel asking if you want the truck to turn off after one hour, YES or NO. If you select YES, the truck will turn the engine (now acting as generator) off or on to maintain the charge of the two batteries for an hour and then completely shut off. If you select NO, the truck will continue past an hour.

I have yet to fully test this overnight on a RTT to see how this will affect my sleep. Of course, anything you don't need on should be turned off (music, HVAC, etc) and the 120 V AC button pressed and lit. I intend to bring along my portable battery bank to power the fridge in case it does disturb my sleep on my upcoming trip.

Hope that helps and welcome to TW.

@snickers, would you post a screen grab of the ON or OFF engine delay?

With vehicle ON and in Park and e-brake engaged, at any time when the driver's door is opened this menu pops up:
In same condition but in Neutral, you get this warning:

Amending the original post to reflect correction of Neutral state.

Don’t question your decision to get a Trailhunter. After a short phase of me being paranoid about every minor imperfection I found (most of them imagined), I’ve settled into the truck and love it. I realize some folks may not like this, and in some ways I miss my 22, but the truck is fancy and tricked out. And super fun. Drives like butter on glass. Oh - and when I drive on the highway for many hours, I walk out of the vehicle rested because I’m not fighting with the transmission and road noise of the last gen (temperature and sound is way more controlled). It can also maintain 90mph like it’s a joke to the truck. As someone who drives out to a ranch 308 miles from my house, I really fucking appreciate that shit.

Does the hybrid give you more than 400w off thr inverter? I thought I read that initially, but cannot remember and haven't seen it lately.

Please do report back with the estimated fuel used running the minimum truck features and fridge overnight (and fridge specs, if you have them).

2400W of pure sine wave. I plan on bringing my portable induction cooktop. Shopping for a small footprint microwave. And figuring how much I can charge for dead Teslas.

    Nice

Good idea, especially if you camp where fires are not allowed

A little bit crazy, and a little redundant if you have a stovetop. Might I suggest a blender instead? Frozen mixed drinks hit different when made on the tailgate. (I actually found a sub-400w model I used with my old Tacoma, great crowd pleaser).

Probably not worth your time, lol.

I travel 1K to where I really want to go. Overnight boondocking at Walmart or rest stops, I can feast on a frozen microwaveable meal. But, yeah probably a little cray, cray.

I don't think that energy is available to share any other place but the motor/generator. What am I missing?

A youtuber confirmed from an engineer that it was pure sine wave. I didn't save the link. The inverter is part of the big inverter/converter unit on the back passenger side of the engine bay. The one with big orange wires.

If the "Max Power" meter that is part of the gauges in the instrument panel is accurate, it seems the truck is set up to keep the charge level at 50 percent. It never seems to drop to 25 percent as of yet.

OK, according to the schematic, the juice to the inverter is indeed supplied by the EV Cell. But I don't have any info on the specs of the inverter.
