Has anyone gone the cheap route on their vehicle? Wondering because Walmart brand gear oil and grease is like half the price? Also curious about supertech(Walmart brand) in general does it even compare to the “real” brands? First post on Tacoma world!

Super Tech oil is probably the cheapest oil you'll find on the regular as far the price, not the quality. I've used it in my Tacoma and my wife's Camry. I've done some research on it and I can't really find anyone who speaks badly of it to be honest. The folks who do are generally only buy their favorite brand of oil that they think is the best.

And like stated up above it is pretty much the same oil that Costco sells. Any Kirkland product I have bought I have been satisfied with not just motor oil. I trust it.

I use SuperTech Synthetic in my 03 DC. I sent Blackstone a sample with 7500 miles on it. The results were great, and I asked them if I could push this oil to 10k miles, and they stated absolutely with no problems. It's the only motor oil I buy, and use Toyota Oil filters with it.
