Finally did this mod! It works just as advertised! I really appreciate this thread OP. I was looking at adding an LSD or a Trutrac diff but this does the job for MUCH cheaper!

You can buy the relay and diode and solder it yourself, that's all I did. Here's a link to a video I made to show the DIYer how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRD5ioaOhxo And here are links to the parts on Amazon:

5 amps should be plenty for this application, and sorry for the numbering mixup. I did not catch that on the Amazon listing. I'm 98% sure that the numbering on the picture below is correct, but could you post a couple of pictures showing the sides and top. I want to check that the LED is connected to pin 14 and the resistor is connected to pin 13.

OK, my picture is correct. My verbiage above was incorrect so I've fixed it and I'll restate it here so there's no confusion. Pin 14 is positive + and the white stripe end of the diode is soldered to it. Pin 13 in negative - and the other end of the diode is connected to it.

Holy Cow! how did you find that? That's just what is needed to make a no-cut locker anytime mod. I wonder if there is enough demand to make it worth doing?

If quality of components and workmanship are there I'm in for a no-cut/hack setup. That said, and not to be mean, but I do not want ROFLCOPTER brand components and contacts (over/under) crimped by a first timer though - I can do amateur work myself.

That looks like it would work. A PCB would make the addition of the diode easy and a smaller relay could be used.
