The other poster said the panel did not stamp it because it is not official Toyota, but given the otherwise-cost he was happy to put stickers on.

Here's a good view of the new, after-market tailgate.

@RichochetRabbit got it right. I backed into a branch in UT and replaced my tailgate with a newly-painted shell from eBay. Of course you''ll need to migrate the original hardware. It was delivered quickly, painted the color I requested. Two thumbs up for these guys.

It does look good! Did they charge extra for paint?

Read the eBay link -- they will paint the tailgate any color you want.

Just after I taco'd in my tailgate, I saw this post by @quickstop showing a cool retro-80s look. I was inspired and copied her design (thanks, btw).

The truck with new tailgate but pre-steekers.

And installing the die-cut Toyota logo -- unfortunately the letters came separate and had to be manually aligned. Logo usage was from the corporate Toyota site.

    The final product:

Damn, didn’t realize how much effort you put into the logo, well done — it looks great!

I too love the retro look, and that’s a great price for a new painted tailgate imo

Edit: thank you for all the pictures too, it’s very helpful
