But no, too much spent on my truck past few months then just went ahead and ordered the replacement SPC uppers. Still waiting for my roof rack to ship.

Just wanted to share in case anyone else was looking.

I think I might save up for Dobinsons MRAs. I don’t like the idea of rebuilding shocks every few years. That was one major reason I got the Ironmans over high end stuff (well that and my wifinancial advisor gets a say in my purchases)

I’m not ready for the suspension mods that I really want to do, but was tired of the harsh ride of the OEM rear springs with the leaves so flat and riding mostly on the helpers. What a poor design, but we all know that story. Didn’t want to spend a whole lot right now, so I picked up a Torch Off-Road add a leaf kit from Amazon. Put in on this past Saturday and removed the OEM spacer. For $75 it made a bigger improvement in the ride than I had expected. Still rides like a truck but feeling every small bump is gone, speed bumps aren't jarring and cornering is improved (even more so than with the Helwig sway bar). It’s sitting 1.75” higher than stock in the rear, so we’ll see where it settles. Have a slight vibration as the drive shaft alignment is off by 2 degrees, so I ordered up some shims from Headstrong Off-Road to take care of that. Running up to Boston in a couple weeks to see one of our daughters, will be nice to see how it is on a long trip.

So, ended up with the day off… woo hoo!! Going to pull the front of the truck apart today. Crank down on every bolt I can find in the steering and suspension and swap those lower shock bolts finally. Throw some grease in the UCA bushings and see if that fixes the clicking noise.

Now that the truck is paid off, I have found myself looking at used land cruisers online. Like the early 2000’s range. Someone has to stop me lol

 

Good luck! My new UCAs will be here tomorrow and then new bolts for them as well. Those were clunking and squeaking when I pulled the wheel off.

Decided to live life on the edge this morning

 

Well, all done with that job. Seems to be fixed as of now… fingers crossed! Checked every other bolt I could find and all that was really loose was the middle and rear bolts on the TRD skid.



Took for test ride and only thing I could hear was the annoying brake pad shift when going from forward to reverse and repeating… but the clicking over bumps and while slow turning seems to be gone.
