I go out of my way, around and around and around a parking lot to find a 'wide' space preferably by a side-curb where I can
back-in tires almost touching the sidewalls so I can avoid one side of crap like this. My favorite game is to take up a portion
of the ultra-wide handi-capped spaces. Or I'll park as far away from anyone else that I can and walk an extra 40 steps.

Will I double park? Rare, but guilty as hell however I got no door dings and don't give a rats-azz if someone gets annoyed by it.
Show some fking respect when you park next to me and sling your door open and I won't do it.... but that ain't happening is it.

Obviously, keep an eye out for damage on a white vehicle driven by a fellow golfer.

That's covered under collision, not comp. Rear door, assuming the impact beam isn't damaged, is about an 8-9 hour repair, though I could see an argument for replacing the skin. If the beam is damaged, the door shell needs to be replaced. Front door is about a 4-5 hour repair, definitely repairable. Replace the blackout tape on the doors, blend the fender, paint the cab corner, R&I the front bumper, left headlamp, door handles, belt mouldings, mirror, glass run channels.

I sustained similar damage to my rear passenger door. Body shop charged $3,600 to replace the door with an OEM door and paint match. Figure double that for the two driver's side doors.

That is quite high for damage caused by a car. I'd think your steps would have really messed up his car.

This happened to me on the rear quarter of the bed, about the same size gash, also by a person who left on 6/28/24. I am supposed to get my truck back tomorrow. Total cost about $6,400. They had to replace the side of the bed.

That may work some of the time, but parked cars are like cows though; one goes to the far end of the pasture, and pretty soon they all go there.

Just happened to my wife several weeks ago. Fortunately we won't have the deductible as we have good driving points and don't have much prior history of claims etc. Still out of pocket 2 weeks to rent her a vehicle.

Good. Nail them to the wall. And not just for the fix, I'd push it in criminal court. If not already, invest in a dashcam as well would be my advice.

That's the galling part. They knew damn well. Hence why I say proceed with criminal as well as civil.

Paris has a 4-lane-wide traffic circle around the Arc de Triomphe that is infamous for crazy drivers. Pedestrians need to use an underpass (the river-rock used for the steps have been worn down to round at the edges form the constant use). If I ever drove that traffic circle I would have a 20-year clunker that I would willingly aim at other vehicles.

The "white" vehicle is probably either a beat-up clunker or a base-line Civic.

Looks like it but if you measure the height of the damage and then measure the height of a hood/front fender of a sedan, it matches up really close. We tested this with my neighbors Audi. The gash out of my side step shows it was a car too, if it was a truck/suv the step wouldn’t have been touched most likely.

Thankfully I found out I have claim forgiveness/no deductible for being with my carrier so long, in the event we can’t find the person.

    I know... it's fking bizarre.

3000 empty parking spaces, you park in the middle of nowhere, and within 5 minutes
somebody parks right next to you. 2,998 empty spaces and they park RIGHT NEXT TO YOU. ( or me )

Back in the late '70s I worked with a guy that occasionally drove his Jag XKE to work. He'd park in a remote space and Invariably he'd later find the same raggedy old station wagon parked next to him. Drove him almost batty - I don't think he ever figured out who it was. Obvious that the other person was trolling him. People do that.

When younger, I can recall my buddy’s uncle (I think that’s who he was) saying he did this- found the shiny gem at the end of the lot and parked his ragged ass jalopy work truck right next to it, just to be D. I didn’t think it was funny and seemed he had mental issues, as he was truly proud of his behavior. These types are most likely the ones that blame the ‘rich man’ for their misfortune, not believing they were responsible for their own success,,, or lack thereof.

I think it's a bit funny, and truly I wouldn't give a rats azz if I were surrounded by Ridgelines
as long as they don't swing the door and ding my panels.
