Depends on the density of the worm and the thickness of the weeds.

I've used similar setups and had to reel gently. no jigging
Any sudden pull might hook ya.

Those images have the worm perpendicular w/ the hook.
I'd run it more with the worm. For less chance of snags.

At Edisto Island for the week. Brought a couple poles with me, but I'm at best a mediocre bass and trout fishermen, and not familiar with tactics for the fish around here. There are a number of ponds around me that I've been told by a local have tilapia in them, and another guy last night told me one has tarpon in it. I've never fished for either of these species, what kind of lures and techniques should I be using?

My son decided that my new Diawa presso ultralight travel rod was his new rod for our upcoming road trip, so I had to get a new rod for myself. Ended up finding a Fenwick Eagle panfish/trout travel rod on clearance, and a 13 fishing creed X on clearance. Spooled it up with 6lb braid and a 8lb fluorocarbon leader.

Late on this but I use a neko rig a good bit. Gamagasku drop shot seedless hook and o-ring midway on a Yum dinger worm. Then place a lead nail weight with a dab of super glue in one end of the worm. The rig will skip well if cast side armed horizontal to the water surface. This allows skipping it under docks, limbs etc. I fish this in a spinning rod with 12lb floro or that as leader and 20lb braid. As soon as it gets to where I want it on a cast, I immediately close the bail and skitter the worm back towards me with a sweep of the rod, pause then make a few twitches and let it fall again. 90% of strikes occur right then. Good luck.

First one a local flood control reservoir and that was a great day there. Saw 4 other boats. Second with tractor is a small pond across the farm. Also got a 4.5 acre pond in back yard.

Looking to get some opinions from other anglers. I am designing a travel/pond/light weight tackle bag, my goal is a thin bag that can fit 2-4 3600 boxes, 1-4 3500 boxes, 2 spools of line, soft plastics, and tools (not all that at the same time)

Here is what I have right now for the design.
Its a side loading bottom half that holds two 3600 boxes.
The top half can hold either two 3600 boxes, or four 3500 + one 3400, or soft plastics, or just general storage.
The side has 2 pockets, the top one would hold two spools of line, the bottom one would hold a single 3500 box.
The front has 2 pockets, the top one would be general storage, just a open pocket to fit tools in. The bottom pocket would be a wide mouth that opens all the way. Inside that pocket would be a couple little mesh pockets then binder rings at the bottom to hold bait bags.
The other side would be the opening for the main 3600 compartment, on that would be a clear window pocket to hold fishing license, above that would be the pliers holder. The pliers holder I want to do just a molle loop that you can attach your own belt clip pliers holder.

The bag would be made of a semi rigid eva foam inner structure covered in a durable fabric with a removable water proof rain cover.

Things I would like to add, but probably dont have space for
Two rod holders (one on each side of the front pockets)
Water bottle holder (This could probably be added to the side 3500 pocket)

    Happen to have a link?
I have been all up and down Amazon, temu, ebay, and most tackle stores. Closest I have found it the yvleen sling bag or hip bag. The sling holds two 3600, terminal and some plastics, the hip bag holds the same, but has a better layout and soft plastics storage. I have both of them, but often need just a tad more space than they provide.

The evolution tackle drift sling is pretty dang close as it holds three 3600 boxes and a 3500 box, plus has a spot for spooled line, rain cover, and bottle holder, but it lacks the soft plastic storage.

Ugly stik made a side load 3600 backpack for a bit, I saw it at scheels once. But its a bit bigger than I want

Okeechobee fats did a great job on the design of this bag, but I don't think they made it with tackle tray sizes in mind as nothing really fits great in it. But the features are all stellar.

I have the last king carryall backpack, it's a decent layout, but lacks structure and just kinda flops around unless fully packed. The front opening for trays is oddly shaped, so getting the top or bottom trays out is a bit of a pain. And since there is no structure, you have to lift the bag by the top or lay it down on its back to get them back in.

I hear you- i used to pack 2 3600s and leader line and a cutter, measuring tape, a jar of secret dipping sauce in a backpack to beach. found out it was a pain in the ass using a generic backpack, as it wasnt completely fishing specific. plus having to take it off and set it down to get stuff out, while keeping my reel out of the sand, then retying or changing lures, then pack it back
up and put back on to resume walking /fishing the beach. to maybe repeat 15 min and 50 yards later.

So i ditched it for a "fishing" fanny pack, that can be easily swung around and used as a 'shelf.' much smaller lure boxes, and i wound a smaller empty line spool with like 10-15 yards of fluoro... i mostly fish a carolina rig with about 2-3 ft leader.... and I never threw everything (i.e. swimbaits and jerkbaits) in the bigger boxes anyways.

but i do sometimes wish it was a little bigger so maybe I'll try a sling bag next.

when i first went out rockfishing i was bringing alot of shit, too. like 4 3600s in a backpack. i went down to using a shimano reel bag (it fits 2 3600s but I only use 1 3600 and an old CD wallet for pre-tied shrimp flies and or hi-lo rigs. no duplicate lures... but that stung me
on my last trip, i had 5 vertical jigs : green, blue, silver, black/silver, and red/silver/blue.

I used a shrimp fly rig... cut off the bottom shrimp fly and tied a interlocking swivel on the end for the green jig. was out fishing my buds like 3:1 with it and wouldn't you know it, the leader line snapped in the middle. no backup for that color and we were not getting bit on the other colors.

dont know what the proper answer is, but I just bought 3 of those green jigs for next time.. and probably
need to go back to 2 3600s at least
