1500 miles on my 6MT Sport. Sometimes the truck won't start (it doesn't even try to start) despite having the clutch down and foot on the brake. I have to hit the start stop button 2/3 times. Does this happen to anyone else?

Nope, I've never experienced anything like that. 4700 miles here.

How far down are you pressing the clutch pedal? On 2nd/3rd gens, the clutch safety switch was set pretty deep, according to people who drove manuals.

1500 here as well and never had that issue. I do always forget to disengage the electronic parking break, though. And I hate how it's designed. It's position feels unnatural and uncomfortable.

Do the 4th gen’s have a clutch start cancel button? Could try selecting that (it ignores the clutch interlock) and it might give you an idea if it’s an issue with the clutch safety.

I bet your clutch interlock switch is failing or out of adjustment. Or, is it possible that you have an aftermarket floormat that is under the clutch pedal?

I have found this to be true. Often mine doesn't start on the first try and its always I'm not pushing my foot far enough. I find it really needs to be put to the floor.
Side note, I hate this. Anyone who drives a stick knows how to start one. Just not needed. IMO, just another safety thing that is not practical. Like when I lock my door and the truck chimes a bunch in case I left a baby on the back seat.

^I'm assuming the baby reminder is always on and not triggered by latching a rear seatbelt? Is there a setting to turn it off in the infotainment screen?

I always seem to want to shut the park brake off without my foot on it.

I know on my 3rd gen I had to have the clutch pushed all the way down. After ~8years I am very used too it, but caught me when I was new to the truck. for the first month or so.

Pretty easy to permanently bypass the clutch start circuit by unplugging the wiring from the pedal and plugging in a custom built jumper. I have it on my 3rd gen and they are using the same connector in the new gen as previous.

Just remember to revert back to stock when you go get new tires, inspection, warranty, etc, so that your truck isn't started and rammed into a wall/pole/tree/car by someone who rarely drives manual.

Could also bypass with a latching switch that you just turn on or off at will.

Hell even most semis are the same way where you have to push them to the floor.
Don't understand why pushing a clutch all the way to the floor to start a truck is such a big deal. 1st world problems

I can post some pics later.

The link I posted takes you to what to buy which includes the terminals and connector. Choose 18 gauge. Get a crimper for these types of terminals. I use the engineer crimp set.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F2W9XSM

crimp both ends of a short piece of wire with the two terminals and then insert them in both sides of the terminal. You end up with a little connector with a looped wire. Plug it into the harness that plugs into the clutch switch. That’s it.

McGuyver would use a toothpick and a gum wrapper. you could probably use a paper clip. Jump the two terminals together with anything conductive.
