Almost 20K. That’s all been checked by service “experts”. They rode with me with scope hooked up. No misfires no pre ignition no throttle position sensor code. nothin. Still under warranty.

Powerband is 3200-3400 rpm anyways. 4k isn't that crazy.

It's a bummer you're having issues though. Hope you find a solution soon.

My Taco takes that little nosedive when it’s cold. Coupled with that clutch accumulator drives me nuts. I need to delete that Beotch before my wife destroys the transmission. I always hear that high octane gas was a waste putting it in the Taco. I know I had to run at least 91 in my 14 5.7 Challengar with a 6mt and it made a huge difference. Does high octane really make that big of a dif on the Taco?

Mine does the nosedive when cold too,, the timing is perfect for when I'm pulling out of my driveway and making a left down the street in the morning. Doesn't seem to matter if I pull out immediately ornlet it idle up to a minute beforehand.

I ran 4 tanks of ethanol free premium gas back to back in late '22 shortly after getting my truck to see if it improved driveability or mileage enough to be worth continuing to buy. I averaged about 1.5mpg better, but other than that, nothing else seemed to change.

Ethanol free made a significant difference in my '99 4runner. Was buying it dirt cheap during the pandemic, and was getting close to a 20% fuel economy improvement and much better throttle response/general driveability. I had manual swapped that one, so I was spoiled by the complete lack of rev hold when letting off the throttle. The older 5spd also shifted much smoother, and faster. Much better driveability all around.

Yea I would try and run premium for 2 tanks. My truck is certainly happier on it. Fun fact is that Toyota designed this engine for premium and then detuned it for reg gas.

I finally had the chance to try a full tank of E0 recently and found the same. Decent jump in MPGs but nothing else.

I had a very different experience on my bike. It felt drastically different from the moment that I rolled away from the pump. Even had a different exhaust note. Enjoyed the hell out of that tank.

The weird thing on the Taco was that the MPG bump stuck around for a few tanks afterward.

I did one tank of E0 a few years ago, truck gave the best tank average MPG it ever had, didn't notice any performance difference though.

I’ve got the slowest vehicle on the planet. I’m jealous and I’m sorry. Carry on. God bless.

My taco at ~7s 0-60 is the fastest most powerful automobile I’ve ever owned. The closest competitor is my 1990’s Mitsubishi Mirage which might have beat it at 0-60 by a hair, but could never tow a boat or carry me among a black rated trail.

I think you are all spoiled or don’t know how to use the skinny pedal.

Still think there's something mechanically wrong. Checked today. I can roll light grades uphill at 1k in second all day long with no issues.

It dawned on me recently if I had taken videos of every car that’s gone by blowing their horn I would have a video approximately 56 hours freaking long

Tbf I've done dozens of pulls against 2nd Gen mt's and rarely lose. And regardless, the gearbox past 1-2ne gear on the 3rd gen is much smoother in my opinion. It's by far my favorite MT that I've own with my 2000 inline f-150 being a close second.

Man, right before my taco was dirty little gti. Getting into the taco was a big difference in height, acceleration, and braking. Man that car would stop on dime.
