My 2016 SR5 has manual A/C and the system has developed an issue in that the compressor clutch will not engage so the system shuts off immediately. The ambient air temperature sensor reads correctly, air blows through the vents, and the condenser face is clear of debris despite the fact that the Dogwood trees are in bloom. I do not know if my SR5 has R1234 or R1234yf but some here have interpreted the size of my fittings to indicate it is more likely that I have an R1234yf system. Unfortunately, there is no label under my hood or anywhere in the engine compartment to indicate which refrigerant is in the system.

Can anyone in the Midwest refer me to a competent diagnostic service facility within a 30 minute drive of the Whitmore Lake area? There are tow know good repair businesses near me but they are known to be exorbitant so I must look elsewhere.

    Thanks for your help.
