    Question for everyone.

I have Falcon Wild peak AT3's on my truck current which are discontinued. 3 of them have 90% tread left, one of them is toast. I've been looking all around for one but can't find anything that is my size and load E.

Discount said to just get two AT4's and I can use my last decent one as a spare. I'd have mismatched tires for awhile which sucks but isn't the worst thing ever.

    Here is my question.

    I currently have class E tires. 285/70/17
I do not want to run load range E tires anymore. I'd prefer to go to C range.

From what I remember you shouldn't run different load ranges. Even if E's were in the back and C's were in the front, or vice versa.

I can't find the tire that matches anywhere, everyone is out of stock. What are my options?

I'd just get a full set of Cs or Ds and sell your others as spares my man.

This added to my truck-camping gear. Along with my JetBoil Sumo, my folding saw ... some hikers, an isolated abandoned miners shack ...

    Excellent choice!
Mine has been through hell, used and abused in just about every southwestern state for coming up on 2 decades.
Never needed more than a sharpen and a shine.

I wrapped the handle with tennis tape a few years back and its held just fine.

Only the 16 in one for now. Eventually a 28-ish inch axe when I am cutting wood. But I am approaching enough to survive off-grid or in a campsite. 14 gallons of water in two cans, a 50 qt Igloo cooler ($130, not a $300 Yeti), bed tent, privacy tent and shower-bag ...

Tennis tape I might do ... I like my fingers and toes ...

Last November I did a random-impulse drive from PHX to DV to see Lake Manly ... weekend jaunt with none of the camping gear I mentioned. I priced water and food at the Furnace Creek store ... the cost of the camping gear sets me up to buy cheaper water and cheaper food and lets me set up in a campground even if just for a quick weekend.

10:50 PM ... a helicopter circling over the ridge where Midlife Crisis trail runs, just west of Elliot/I-10, using its spotlight on the ground over South Mountain Park in PHX. Someone is having a bad night.

Ah, old enough to have the leather sheath - mine has the nylon - but yes, my only consideration was Council Tool or Estwing and biased towards the Estwing since early career was around soil sample drill rigs and geologists - Estwing rock hammer was the ONLY one you carried.

I got the shorter one to fit behind the passenger seat in my taco and now the long one stays at home.
I was bummed to get the newer nylon sheath

Estwing makes good stuff. My old man swore by their hammers

What do you use for sharpening? Fiskars makes one they obviously wish to bundle with their axes. Since I bought the Estwing (no ... not regretting or revisiting) is the Fiskars good enough, or is there a "sharpen shone" you prefer?

I’ve always used a file for the blade
I don’t like it to be super sharp since use will dull a fine edge. A solid mid bevel lasts through a long weekend no problem

they sell sharpening pucks that are nice as well

after every use it gets the file

every now and then I buff the surface and use an anti rust compound. Sheath gets leather treatment

Agree with Twitch57 - a file, just clean up the edge, I can shave with the knife - lol - ! But, I do really like the 4" round machinist stone from MSC, two sides, two grits, nice for many things. MSC# 05108402

My brother once tried to shave with an old-style straight-razor that was sitting around from a family member from many years ago. He said he damn-near cut his own throat!

Flew to VA for a charity golf tournament this week and on one hole they had an AR firing blanks, with a threaded gold ball tube on the front. You could pay $10 and shoot your ball down the fairway. Pretty interesting to be about to tee off and hear gunshots ringing out.

So I was cleaning my truck and saw a bunch of oil all over my skids and apparently my front diff is leaking bad only on drivers side. Both drain and fill plugs are tight looks like it is coming out of one of the cv seal. Does any one have seal removal tools for the diff? I still need to drive the truck until I can fix it, will that cause damage to the diff?
