Hello all. New member here, and also new tacoma owner. I have a 2000 SR5 4wd and was wanting to ask if its common to need a sledge hammer to get my wheels off. I have to hit the back side of every wheel to get them loose. And I'm pretty sure they are stock steel wheels. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Was this the first time you have taken the wheels off? I've had to give mine a good kick after a long winter and lots of driving in the snow.

No, I've taken them off several times. And made sure everything is good n clean before reinstalling. they're just tight fitting.

It happens a bit especially if the wheels are rarely removed, such as only once a year and subjected to water/mud/snow/ice which helps to fuse the rim to the rotor/drum.
While I dont remember how many wheels I've had to use a sledge hammer to break loose I noticed it more often with steel rims and cheaper alloy rims.

Hopefully they'll get easier the more I remove them. Got a lot of upgrading to do so we'll definitely see. Thanks for the input.
