I removed my lift kit just to see how my Prerunner looks with 1.5 Lift front (Bilstein at 0 with OME 883) and Dakars medium pack with upper overlord removed. 285/70r17 Method 4.50 backspace 0 offset.
On the other photo she has Maxtrac spindles and Bilstein with OME 883 (5.5) and Dakars medium pack with both overlords and a 2 inch block. I like the 2 different versions of the truck. I think both ways have pros and cons. What do you guys think?IMG_20240915_103929.jpg IMG_20240823_134551.jpg

I guess it depends on what your use goals are. If you go offroad much, you'll almost certainly want some amount of lift... Where you go offroad should dictate how much lift you need.

    Bigger lift:
More ground (belly) clearance (good if you get into big rocks much)
    Allows fitting considerably larger tires
Tends to have worse on-road handling
Can have worse ride quality (depending on how the lift was executed)
    Fits in fewer parking garages

    Smaller lift:
Tends to have less impact on on-road handling
Generally less impact on ride quality (though again it depends on how the lift was done)
    Fits in most garages.
Allows fitting slightly larger-than-stock tires if you tweak the caster settings
    Less ground clearance

Anything in regard to looks however is a matter of one's opinion.
    Mine:
    2" lift on 16-17" wheels/32" tires = Good
    5-6" lift on 17" wheels/33-35" tires = Good
6" lift on 20" or larger wheels poking way out = Bad
Anything over 7" lift = Bad
Biggest tires possible stuffed onto a mostly-stock suspension & rubbing = Bad.

    Others will agree/disagree.

IMO it looks better at 2 in.

I also don’t like lift blocks on leaf springs. They act like a lever and introduce spring wrap. 2” blocks are modest, so it might not be an issue, except maybe under heavy acceleration. Ever get wheel hop taking off?

Coil spring spacers are another matter. They don’t affect the parts locating and controlling the front end.

    YMMV:)

    Small lift.

I set my Bilsteins at 1.25 inches and I get a ton of complements on it. Mostly of the "respect for setting up for function and not for show" variety.

Meh. I did it because I think small lift looks better. Bonus for small lift driving better too.

That saved my bumper once! One day I wasn't paying attention and hit a big tree branch in the middle of the road at 45 mph and zero damage to the front of the truck. Just a couple of dents in the bull guard. If that hadn't been there, bye bye bumper, grille and who knows what else :)

The top picture looks way better to me. If it’s lower, you could get rid of the steps too.

It's really all up to you, how you drive it, do you care about fuel economy, drive into parking garages much? I've had both and prefer the lower lift and tires. It still looks great and it's just more practical for everyday use.

Typically when I see big I see junk, cheap or someone that’s never off road.
    There is exceptions for sure.
    I like the 2 inch

Since it’s a 2wd you are not lifting it for off road but purely for looks. Go with a lower lift. The reason I say that is in general the higher the lift the more problems caused by the lift you may or will experience. Or no lift at all
