Bad timing for Lando but that’s the risk of leaving it till the last lap on a track where plenty of people cause yellows.

Might be a good time to ignore parc ferme to change to a low downforce setup and put a new PU in. Lots of overtaking needs to happen tomorrow…

I am a McLaren fan and do believe that the flag did have a small part in it.
Agreed but the strategy is to wait and not show your hand....but yeah he could have done it in the previous lap.
    This.....100%

Tire allocations can also be a factor. Norris getting caught out caused other teams to change their approach. Think Russell even sent a radio message encouraging the team to get after it early.

Don't think anyone had those results playing out. Wonder if RB is regretting their Checo decision yet.

I’m in Alaska and no TV. Only reading- who actually caused the crack up at the ending?

I didn't see Sainz move his hands enough to indicate he caused it. Open to other opnions. Anybody?

I am far from a RB fan, but I really don't think it was Checo's fault.

Great drive, great teamwork, great defense, one of the best races of the season IMO. Having Lando come from 15th to 6th and to make up 16 seconds in 12 laps was purely transcendental. The entire race from end to end were great battles.

So I after seeing the replay of both Checo inside and Sainz inside, neither of them turned in, but I think that neither of them were straight and due to the speed veered into each other. Sainz I do believe was more of the aggressor IMO, but he was ahead and I think Checo wasn't having it.

Just finished the race. Pretty good one again, didn’t expect the end of race crash with how clean everyone had kept it the whole time.

What a strong drive by Lando and he even managed to play the solid teammate role. It's a shame he didn't get a lucky flag for a cheeky pitstop. Nice haul of points for McLaren for sure.

Too bad about the Sainz and Perez crash :rofl::cheers::rofl::rofl:

During the post race show Karun Chandhok walked through the wreck on the sky pad using the overhead view. Sainz was outside near the wall and the white like was pretty much centerline of the Ferrari. Perez was inside pretty much centered in the track. In slow motion it was clear that Sainz drifted left to the center of the track into Perez. Perez drifted left but it was too little too late. Im no Perez or Red Bull fan but Sainz deserved a big fat penalty.

What. A. Race. Checo playing it cool all those laps, saving his push for the very end. LEC just going for it again and again and again. Piastri showing nerves of icy steel with a superb defense from the front. Ferrari AND McLaren getting their strategies spot-on. Williams showing glimmers of what may be. What. A. Race.

That pretty much sums up what I saw. They were both focused on the next corner when they touched, and a touch was all it took. Racing incident.

    Sainz / Perez was 50/50

    Definitely a racing incident

That said, it looked like Carlos was already starting to point left a little to set up for the straight and following turn, but Checo was still pointing straight/right and hadn't yet pointed left a little yet

Great race. Checo should have been told how fast Sainz was at the end of the race and settle for the points, or hope that Sainz and LeClerc tangle and he inherits points, but it was a 50/50 racing incident in my mind. Great drives by both Oscar and Lando.

The Joylon Palmer breakdown of the Perez / Sainz collision on Youtube is pretty good , can't link it here though
