    That was before!

    - Covers were a bit of a bear to get off. (16 y.o. Unit)
    - Bent fins were pre-existing
    - Cleaned with authorized cleaner 3 times (from outside once, from inside twice, drying with leaf blower between each treatment)
    - Rinsed with water hose on “flat” setting
    - Rinsed inside out with pressure washer with widest nozzle being carefull not to hold too close to fins (12-18”)
    - Fins looked much better (but not new) after

NOTICEABLE increase in efficiency and reduced run time.

Being a little “extra”, I doubt they are as thorough as I (the homeowner) would be. I would expect them to spend 30 minutes cleaning. I would watch them remove covers (Not much on YouTube)

    - Expect ground to become water logged. Ensure drainage.
    - Use safety glasses when using caustic cleaner
    - Manual pump spray goes much further than aerosol (I used both)
    - Use leaf blower before water to remove debris.
    - Use stiff bristle brush to straighten bent fins where possible.
    - Had been 3 years since serviced (slacker doing some traveling)

I was waterlogged/soaked, hurried in to dry out. Forgot to take pic before covers:crapstorm: ‍. Cleaned covers/exterior too though. Can try to snap some later today.

Does anyone know what brand or type handle this might be? I don't see anything like it at Lowes Depot. The handles there might bolt up, but I don't think they'll reach the metal striker.

The color isn't too important. I'm not sure if these are really the same.

Edit: Mine has a square shaft that goes through the base. The handle is held in with a pin (right of Allen screw). There's a spring that goes over that pin, which is missing in my photo.

I had the exact same door at my old house. Pretty sure it's an old style Larson. I don't think you can get an exact replacement anymore, but I did find something similar.

    https://www.amazon.com/Ideal-Securi...1726480830&sprefix=larso,aps,125&sr=8-10&th=1

Probably going to take some tinkering to get it to latch.

The Toto Drake is a solid choice, so it should be worth the hassle. Running into unexpected issues like that can be really frustrating, especially late at night. It’s good that you found a temporary fix with the cap and got the water back on. On another note, if you're looking for part time moving jobs, AroundWire could be a helpful platform. It's designed for connecting people to various opportunities, including short-term and blue-collar work, making it easier to find local jobs or hire someone for a quick moving gig.

Fun multi-day project at a multi-family unit one block from the ocean. My customer has completely redone the exterior. Prior to painting back in May/June, I replaced some vertical v-match pine siding on one gable end. The porch was brick, they recently had the stone work done. The final component was the unsightly front porch. Wrapped the posts in 1x5 Lifespan for a little wiggle room (1/4"). Glued and screwed together (one post was replaced as it was way too warped to wrap). Going to paint the posts in the morning and then install the railings (basic deck style in cedar). Will need to prime that before paint.

That used to be a 2 hour project. Now it would be over done over 2 days with
    multiple recovery periods.

Plus I would hurt for 3 days afterwards.
