At the last mod day at @Yacob_D ‘s I was talking to someone who said they had a 95.5 Tacoma, pretty sure he rode in on a black Harley, who was that?

We were talking about differences between 95.5s and the rest of the 95.5-97 sub-generation. Pretty sure it’s the alignment cams that are different but I can’t find much info anywhere on it but pretty sure he knew everything about it

 

If you put your Vin in on the Toyota parts places and look up the cams do you get something different?

 

That was me , and the only difference is from 1995.5 -96 it's odd they changed the cam size in a good way they beefed them up . But if you need some tabs made @XPOTRPR made me a custom set . So if it's a 1995.5 no one makes the set cam tabs besides Josh . @prise for hardware 1000%

I called poly performance about it and they said they never had a issue and I should know my truck better... but I have multiple year 1st gens to compare so Josh made me a custom set n kept the file

 

With the custom tabs did you keep the original 95.5 cam size or changed to the standard 96-04 size? I can’t even find the 95.5 cams anywhere
I was talking with others about grinding the entire plate and tabs off and welding these on to use the standard cam size

 

I kept the factory 95.5 size and had @XPOTRPR design me a custom set, if you upgrade to the 96-04 size i have I a set of poly performance cam tabs brand new

 

Weld the tabs in and upgrade/update to the bigger cams. you can do it!

Or the custom cams that fit between your factory tabs is a good option but i this it's a good opportunity for an upgrade.

Total Chaos also makes a cam tab set but it was cheaper to go the wheeler route when I did mine. TC does have decent written instructions on their website with the part listing that may be helpful for understanding the process

I'm also not a huge fan of the cam eliminators like the poly pro's for something that spends a lot of time on pavement because of the square or octagon shapes you only get a couple set options for the alignment instead of the adjustability from the round OEM style cams.

 

I got you @time623 if you want a set + @prise for the hardware and you can piece together a high(er) quality kit. The tabs are waterjet cut out of 1/4 Stainless and held to tighter tolerances than others.

@Milota95 runs a set of the 95.5 tabs (I also have files for 96+ 1st gens) and @Yacob_D is running a set for the 2nd gens.
