My next door neighbor to the west is named Vac Lot. Never have seen him. Does no tree trimming or sidewalk maintenance.

His damn tree branches and leaves fall into my yard constantly. I just haul everything back to his yard and dump it. Gonna keep doing it until I'm told not to

    Morning shop:hattip:

Had some friends ask if I'd take care of their animals while they take a trip. So my life just got a whole lot busier haha. Once morning and once evening, feed, water, let the dogs out. Check the property, that kind of thing. They are good folks and I'd have done it for them anyway. But they insist on paying. I refused once and they insisted. So I accepted. No sense in turning down money

Did you use the lathe or did you just chuck them in a drill and run them against the flap wheel?

Lathe. Surprised they were as tough as they were, very blue chips even with a new insert in the cutting tool.

It was not the battery posts, although since there was corrosion, they needed to be cleaned anyway.

It appears that after almost 4 years the grille lights have failed and started killing the battery so they had to go. I ripped them out this morning. I'll know for sure that they were the culprit tomorrow morning when I go to start it again.

In other news, I received an email from my boss at 11:00am and an email from his boss... at 11:00am... both looking for the same thing - the total lineal feet of sidewalks on campus.

Oh, and they needed the number today. :annoyed:

I'd still be out there if I was doing that! There's a reason I redrew the entire campus shortly after I started once I realized it wasn't drawn full scale.

No, my day was a whole pile of back and forth fixing things in AutoCAD to then dump info out to Excel them massage the numbers around. Even skipped lunch to get it wrapped up, not that anyone noticed or you'd get credit for even if they did.

Final tally - 27.9 linear miles of sidewalks.

That sounds about right! When this type of information is needed by the big honcho, it would be a “I need it now!” order most of the time.
Now you know how important you are

I don’t know, @RustyGreen ‘s method would’ve got you out and about and you probably could’ve scoffed down a sammich or two

Nice to get that info so quickly to your boss and their boss , congratulations

-Rusty is a better friend than I, that's for sure.

    - Fargo No lunch yesterday means double lunch today? Or flex it out by 2pm on Friday.

It woulda taken me a months to do all this. We had some guys rip out my back deck, frame up and pour a new slab out back and redo my sidewalk in the front. Here's a start...
