Because I haven't owned a home in about a decade, I'm a little over-zealous about setting the house up to be what i want it to be, year round. I hoped to create a thread for ideas, DIYs and all that.

I got the house in Feb, and haven't had much time to sort through what i want each season to look like.

I had a few things up for Independence Day -

Mostly just flags and a few pieces of bunting and lights and a camo net (center of pic)...

But now that i've been in the place for 6 months, am starting to plan stuff out - to get to my house, the driveway runs through and old corn crib. A couple hundred bucks in corn stalks, straw and orange lights and the crib is starting to take shape. Since these, I've covered the entire pavement (under the crib) with straw. Plan is for a few more straw bales, maybe adding white lights, candles in the hanging jars (not pictured yet - but i have ball jars with bailing wire tired to an old ladder along the right side), and to set my fog-machine with a motion trigger as i prep for Halloween - the rub is, we won't get visitors - we're out in the country and barely visible from any roads. But I dig it.

I found these ball jars with wire and candles hidden under some debris in my bar - so I put them up on a ladder that was already in the corn crib. I may switch to LED candles at some point, but so far i like the look.

other side of the tunnel - decades-old xmas lights wrapped around another ladder - half of them worked!

And - do you see what "eye" see there looking through the slats?
