    Hey Silver

I am looking at one from a guy on fb marketplace. Haven't actually removed the switch and and hoping I just need the one for the power locks. Windows work fine. Drivers side quick working today. I'll keep everyone updated.

I've thought about that but I don't have the necessary tools nor know-how to fix circuitry or small wire repairs. I've wired electrical outlets for houses but that's about it. My Amazon account wish list is packed with wire strippers, crimper and butt type connector kit for when the time comes to do corrosion repairs.

You know you fix one part old....and then another component on it fails...

Thats reason I pony up for $100+ new one....
they even had it in stock...just like the PS hoses......business must be good on these

Even it will probably develop contact issues eventually...
    ....thats just DC....

Pretty much. I ordered a new one on Amazon this morning. Just wanted to get it working! Eventually will fork out more money for OEM. Just like everything else on this truck.

Well, Amazon part did not work. Next step is I bought a new motor for the door lock actuator from the flee-bay and going to replace it and see if that works. I could not find a wiring diagram so be able to test power and ground so just throwing parts at it.

I feel like the little boy who sticks his finger in the hole in the dyke and water comes from another hole, and so on...

So your driver's side door lock isn't locking/unlocking when hitting the button? Does it make a clunking sound when you hit the switch but not moving?

I had two lock units with this issue - one was cracked and needed replacement, the other was just dirty and needed lube.

The lock has been failing using the car alarm remote for awhile now. But the button was working. Finally gave up completely. No buzzing sound at all.

I haven't inspected the unit yet. Where exactly did you lube the wiring?

I was having issue with the actual lock actuating, and lubricated the various mechanisms in it.

I was incorrect. There is the NORMAL sound when I push the door lock button in the cab. This is why I am thinking it is the motor. Supposed to be arriving between the 25th and 30th.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
This switch cluster can also be used out of second gen 4runners, those are much cheaper to acquire.

    Y'all,

I bought a new motor for the door actuator but it's stem was longer than my OG and of course did not fit. I think I may have found the problem though. The 8pin female connector on my OG has a loose (actually disconnected) wire. It's the only blue wire and I was unable find any wiring diagram online to confirm. Also could not find a video or link on how to de-pin the connector.
All you people who know how to remove and repair the connection have any assistance for me? I have never soldered but am willing to learn.

    Hey y'all

Just following up...after buying a set of crimper, wire strippers and side cutters and then unable to find the right size barrel connector, I went ahead and bought a new set of door lock actuators on Ebay.
I replaced the driver's side and it now works like a charm. At least I havethe necessary tools if I ever need to do a wiring repair
