    Good morning!
Mark, Hope your wife is doing better!

What are they trying/using? Locally they are now using some previously taboo treatments.

That's a wrap on this project. People from the neighborhood would often stop by and chat about the progress. Transformative was a common theme and I'd agree. My clients were more then thrilled. Railings & Balusters are cedar. Had enough paint leftover to do the porch ceiling. Only took a little bit of time and wasn't part of the job.

Great work as always! Making Maine a bit better each project at a time. Those costal houses get beat up.

Looks like one of my weekend projects will be to replace my kitchen faucet. We have a Moen Renzo now and it's stopped turning. I was hopeful that I could take it apart to clean and repair it, but it doesn't look like that's a possibility. Anyone got any experience there?

Failing that, what would y'all recommend for a kitchen faucet? I'd like to keep the same style of pull down handle.

many times, it's the ceramic cartridge within it. many places offer replacement cartridges that'll bring it back to like-new condition.

That's what I was hoping, but I can't find anything that shows me how to disassemble it and what part needs to be replaced so that it will rotate again.

Moen Brantford. Loved it aside from the 1255 internal cartridge that needed replacement about once a year. (handle would get floppy and couldn't hold itself up)

    https://www.amazon.com/Moen-7295SRS-Brantford-One-Handle-Featuring/dp/B01BP5S0RS?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.2wcVjWyhTGugpnYr_VmjxIjON0zXzSDx1L-c3eysmehtHBXS23Dv82QvwaCJuUiOKKi0l5XvW3JqAKasjnZ1_4nqlZJYWqMJktI7aHEtuj9040ZQNa7sILPgmQF2ZDnGpj_ZaJP5ufgZcVuU9-EFXp8KIww89C3TTg7QxtVi4iP_rMT6OJaMEGBZMDQfJalx4VBEZ15PkIHhl4I2siAftnLra3a0NAUcanEMxt1TplnNuZJOtEHr6EtzgPHtxzZvjxNtbswS5JtuNaaT_pJEjnmt_mHaeOZLdlhEXFPqkRk.aH_--z4WEDgSpS2I7edzW9hoHzErdbLjbPYLbi32Bf4&dib_tag=se&hvadid=177758783462&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9030070&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=7908840504028332977&hvtargid=kwd-28864100568&hydadcr=1866_9900200&keywords=moen+brantford+kitchen+faucet&qid=1726882898&sr=8-6&th=1

Shut the water valves off under the sink, turn slowly. Turn on facet to bleed water in lines. Then check the back of the faucet for a small plastic or rubber plug. If so, pop that out and use an allen wrench to disassemble. It's probably a 1255 cartridge.

edit: cartridge comes with allen key for install

moen has stuff right on their website of all places(don't worry, it was on of the last resorts to searches i made as well)

    https://assets.moen.com/shared/docs/exploded-parts-views/exp10814pt.pdf

oddly, there's 3 pages of illustrated views of what appears to be the same product, but with a large warning that there's 3 different iterations of the same product, but i can't identify any difference between the iterations... the first page shows replacement cartridge#205013, which appears all but discontinued everywhere.

but the subsequent pages show cartridge #1255, which is available everywhere.

Moen 1255 can be found at Lowes/HD for around $20. All box store faucets are pretty much junk. After a few years it makes more sense to replace than rebuild especially if you have really hard water/high mineral content.

The Moen Brandtford I linked is slightly higher quality (more metal to it).

Waterstone makes nice faucets, but they're several grand each.

More prep work to prepare for two more large window installs at the house. In the process I realized I didn’t order one of them tempered and it’s in the downstairs bathroom

    :annoyed:

That's the thing, mine doesn't seem to be able to be disassembled. It doesn't have the plug or an allen screw behind it. The handle itself has one on the front, but all that does is allow me to take the handle off. My problem is that the whole faucet will no longer move left to right.

Yes I found those and did as much disassembly as I could using them. I still can't get past the point where I remove the blending valve. Sorry, the 'cartridge, cartridge nut, and set screw'.

As above, I had those pages printed out and was staring at the faucet trying to figure out how to go farther. Mine just doesn't seem to be able to be disassembled.

Yeah I'm not spending four digits on a faucet lol

pictures might help us, though there's also the possibility it's a non-serviceable design and it just needs to be outright replaced.

i never would either. far cheaper to get the non-name brand replacements
