I always use a pizza stone when cooking in the oven. I've used it on the grill a few times, didn't prevent any burning on the bottom.
I guess because on the grill it's closer to the heat.

Attempt 2, on the smoker this time.

    20240804_185833.jpg

Beautifully crisp, but still chewy, crust but the smoker had a horrible time getting up to 375 so it took about 15 minutes to cook.

I've been lazy lately and not making my own pizzas. Instead I just throw extra goodies on the costco pepperoni pizzas.

Made a batch of tomato sauce today. This roll thing is the best thing I've eaten in the past few months. Serious nom nom.

Looks great. Is that pizza or bread dough?

Pillsbury thin crust pizza dough. I figured my pizza dough recipe would be too bready and that was my excuse to be lazy!

Thanks for the tip - I've tried something similar with bread dough, and it was a bit too thick. Hey it still looks like you did a good amount of work!

I'm kind of disappointed there isn't more activity in this thread today.

It's National Pepperoni Pizza day so I had to oblige.

    20240920_180840.jpg

May have added bacon and extra cheese to it.

Sorry for the lack of posting in this thread, I just take it for granted living near the pizza capital of the world (New Haven, CT).

I am very much in to making pizza at home or going to mom n pop places. After years of working for Pizza the Hut in my younger days I know too well the corners they cut. Also I like just Cheese or a few toppings that go together well. combinations like ground beef and onion, Tomato and Basil, Italian Sausage and mushroom are some of my favs.
I like to make my own dough with a basic recipe using bread flour or 00 flour then bake the pie on a stone in the oven or in my Weber grille. The Grille is the way I prefer in the warmer months since I do most of my cooking there to keep the heat outdoors.

Yeah I'm just not in to a meat pizza every time. The garden ripe flavor of the tomatoes was really good though this time. I make more meat pizza in the winter when the garden stuff is gone.
