Changed my oil in my 2011 4 cylinder yesterday. I’ve had this oil for almost a year. 7k miles on old oil and it looked good and was still on the fill mark. I had 4 containers of the oil on the left and one container on the right with the green cap. Both are 0W-20, but when I poured the oil on the right with the green cap, the color of the oil was kind of a bluish gray color while all the other containers looked like new oil should. What is the difference between these two oils? Why was that one bluish gray in color?

    Maybe..... likely additives for assembly.

I'm surprised anyone runs that 0-20w in the 2tr-fe....it was actually designed to be used with 5w-30.

Toyota swapped because of fuel regulations.

Thank you. That’s the answer I was looking for. It sounds like one quart of that ESP X2 and 5 quarts of the gasoline oil should be ok. I figured it was, but I just didn’t understand the difference in color. I’ve never seen bluish gray oil before.

5k miles is where I usually change my oil, but I’m 78 and it’s not as easy to change my oil as it used to be, but no one but me has ever changed oil in any of my vehicles. What I did not put in my post is that it was 3 years to the day that I last changed my oil. It’s been making me nervous every time I’ve driven it for a long time, and now I can rest easy. Does anyone think I might be a procrastinator?
