This started a few months ago, so for a couple of days my airbag light randomly would come on and go off and eventually it stuck on. I finally got around to figuring out the issue and bought a BlueDriver Pro OBD2. Installed it and I’m not getting any codes? Lights on and no code?

Does this scanner not pull airbag codes or does my issue stem from something else?

If it’s a scanner issue, can someone recommend one please? Thanks!

No, SRS is not supported by BlurDriver
I believe the ThinkDiag does SRS.
@Dm93 moght know? He has one.

Here is the BlueDriver chart for your truck.
It doesn’t cover SRS, unfortunately. Sorry man.

I'm not familiar with that scanner but basic scanners don't often scan ABS and air bag codes. I recommend you do a search to see if you can enable airbag/ABS system codes with that scanner, though.

The issues I've had with the airbag system in our 2006 Tacoma were caused when the clock spring spiral cable began to go out. If your turn signals, cruise control, horn or other steering functions are also on the fritz, I would bet it's your clock spring spiral cable that needs to be replaced. Even if they're not and if you haven't messed with anything else in the cab, my money is on the CSSC. Notorious problem on early 2nd gens.

EDIT: You can find cheap ones on Amazon but pony up and get the Toyota part. I learned the hard way, spending good money on the Amazon part and only having it last a year. I had to do it all over again but the Toyota part is still working 8 odd years later. 2nd time (and the real part) was the charm.

Otherwise, check under the seats and make sure the yellow connectors are plugged in securely (or any other yellow connectors in the cab you may have inadvertently unplugged/stretched/damaged).

No biggie, just an Amazon return away. I read conflicting things online so just figured I’d try before bothering the form lol.

I hear ya, an Airbag/electric guy said it’s prob that too but I didn’t wanna pay the guy a handful to just run his scanner. Figured I’d buy one and return it. I’m about to swap from a bench to buckets and wanted to scan the code to see what’s up exactly before I did the swap so I can look for issues as I go.

Any scanner you suggest? Again I’m just gonna buy and return. Good ol Amazon rental

You can't go wrong with an Autel, Launch, or Thinktool
Kingbolen, Topdon, and Harbor Freights new stuff is pretty much all a copy of Launch or Autel.

Don't buy the OBD Link MX+
It will pull SRS, BUT......you have to pay EXTRA for special functions. SRS is one of them.
    And for EACH vehicle.......

So, why did I buy it?
    Because Dodge.......That's why.
I needed to vin code a module, and the MX+ was one of the few that worked with the software I had.....
