Alright so I was on my way to school about a week ago and while idling in park the truck stalled. It started right back up no problem. Fast forward a few days later it happened again at a red light. Again the truck started right back up. The problem keeps happening more frequently and now is starting to attempt to stall while driving but if i give it gas it’ll stay alive. I changed all the spark plugs and cleaned the throttle body. NOTHING. I replaced my MAF sensor a month ago so i’m pretty sure I can eliminate that as a problem. The only other thing i can think of is the fuel pump but it doesn’t have a problem starting so i don’t know why that would be the problem and the fuel pump has only 1000 miles on it. Please HELP!!

    Check the cyl compression .
    I know huh
hard to believe that slightly low compression would cause this type of stalling, with no CEL codes
I was in denial and thought the mechanics were "full of it", two dealer diagnosis and an independent said lower than normal comp in two adjacent cylinders was the cause
not enough vacuum to operate the idle Control module
this was on on my gen1 4cyl,
I spend many many hours testing, cleaning and replacing every engine control device in the system, I learned how it all works but I ended up having to do a valve job
They added a vacuum pump to 2nd gen so hopefully it is something else simple like spark plugs or dirty throttle body

To bet installed: bling grill, headlights, fog lights.
If the MAF you took off was OEM, and if you still have it, maybe clean it and reinstall.

Did you replace with OEM or aftermarket? Aftermarket is hit or miss on quality.

It was aftermarket so maybe it took a shit. Ordered a new MAF hopefully that’s the fix. I had the OEM sensor and cleaned it but it was shot.
