Its definitely affecting sales, my guy was fishing for the 3rd time on an allocation, when I said I was not ready to buy and sent him the TSB and said it has Tundra vibes he replied with this.

On a related note, once a TSB is issued for a problem, how long is that problem addressed for no charge? If you go past the 5 year/60,000 mile warranty, would they still fix the trans for free in the 2024's assuming that your VIN was within the problem range?

whats your take on this vin per the list posted on page 1
    potential effected unit???

    VIN: 3TMKB5FN0RM41A248
from that list you posted about the trans vin effective change date

cuz this vin is lower in the list, does that mean potential trans issue?

this is a truck I have reserved that comes in end of october.
looking at another truck today at my original dealer, they did a dealer trade...
i dont have that vin yet

    im actually reading it wrong....
    change is at
    3tmkb5fn#rm043849
option 1 here at dealer now:
    3tmkb5fn#rm014477
truck reserved & arrive end of october:
    3tmkb5fn#rm41a248
so if im interpreting the vin# part of tsb correctly reserved truck has updated trans while truck at dealer now could be faulty????

AM I INTERPRETING THIS CORRECTLY, ANYONE>?

this is just starting to suck....

Your reserved truck has a temporary VIN, meaning it hasn’t been built yet. Once it’s built it’ll have a permanent VIN. Any truck being built now should be unaffected by the TSB.

the truck that’s here now has paint defects too, and full of them, I’m not willing to let go and look past it at this point.
    3tmkb5fn#rm014477
Plus how I am interpreting that list, it falls within the trans issue

    You have no idea...:D
You look at yours in the garage under LED's or any source of artificial light, at an angle?
I had Toyota approve a lemon law buy back cuz of it & that truck is now gone.
100's of fish eyes, seeds, tons of nibs chunks of rice grain size dirt / debris chunks just being paint over...
Very hard to see in outdoor sunlight, but its there....
I just went & inspected another potential replacement, white 2wd sr5 shortbed jbl upgrade...
Also have nibs I was NOT willing to look past, getting very frustrating at this point...
This visit seems like every white truck on the lot had blems...
Dealer is bending-over trying to make things right, trying to give me a killer deal on an offroad...
Truly have zero interest in an offroad, will never see dirt, more parts, more maintenance as in front diff, transfercase, axle shaft / cv boots, etc...
I keep my stuff forever so I dont see resale value as an upside...
To me kinda feel the offroads are abit softer on city road bumps / cracks, abit more less bodyroll / stiffer on freeway, but not as peppy / torquey off the line as a 2wd,
atleast my observation trying to justify an offroad, also seems like offroad has more roar / drone on take-off from a stop & low-end accel.
Looks like Toyota cant spray white to save their lives....

Here some pics but keep in mind, I take crappy pics, wasnt the best picture quality, but you'll get the point...
At $40+k, I wasnt will to call it acceptable...

Your story is why I checked mine so hard before purchase, no issues on my white one. Pretty sure the sales guy thought I was crazy walking around in the bed looking at the roof etc. But on a purchase this expensive, everyone should be critical of what they are buying.

The one I just inspected, my dealer did a dealer trade to get...
They had to give-up a corolla & a camry to get this truck, & im not accepting it...

    I agree 100%
at this point you couldn’t give me a 23 Tacoma or a 24 ranger & I was a ford engine tech for 30+ years..
    Amazing fun little truck…

    i’m hoping to find one….
I’ve got a truck reserve from a dealer that I really don’t want to deal with, but it is what it is at this point, comes in the end of October.
Hopefully, I’ll have some luck on my side and that’ll be the one…
