Going to look at a manual 2005 Regular Cab tomorrow. 177,000 miles, frame replaced, gentleman has owned it for a year. Unsure of any records other then a for sale ad stating A/C compressor and condenser replaced and in excellent condition...needs nothing and runs great. No rust. Exterior pictures look good and I have not seen underneath. I know its a general description.

I own a third gen Tacoma and fifth gen 4Runner. Dont know too much about 2nd gens, just what I have read on the forums here. KBB and Edmunds are around $6600 for the truck, asking price is $10k.

Is this price reasonable in today's 2nd gen market?

    Thank you for the help.

    With a new frame… that’s 15k. Make a deal.

I’d like to see if the rear diff oil has ever been changed but if it runs well I would think 8-8.5k would be nice for both of you. Good luck! I just turned IMG_1609.jpg

As long as you understand you are buying the slowest vehicle on the Planet you should be good. You really have to take a breath and plan your day. Little old ladies flip me the bird… all day. I love it. Again, good luck. I can’t wait to see this. My little beastie.IMG_8412.jpg

Check for signs of head gasket leak? I've read this was an issue with 05-07? Owned for one year ? Why is he selling it? How many previous owners? Otherwise sounds great. Good luck!

Why is the guy selling it after only a year? Also, 177k...how was it driven the past 177k, how many owners and was it properly maintained? Too many questions.

Well I could put my finger through the floor and touch carpet. So yea. No go.

    Edit:

Too add some more, after pulling the carfax, it was four owners. Yes a new frame but it has not been treated with anything since it was done years ago. Everything attached to the frame looked like it was pulled from the wreck of the Titanic. Bad tranny leak.

Noticed staining on the carpet which led my to see the rotted cab floors. Sludge under the oil cap, and what looked like some kind of coolant cocktail was mixed in the overflow tank.

Older fellow owns its and was too high for him to get in, so he got an old Ranger.

I did not even bother to test drive.
