Looking for advice own a 2019 trd sport 6 speed manual 165000k never had any issues at all. Today randomly after a hour drive wouldn't start. Starter would click once and that was it. Tried to bumb start nothing. Checked battery was at 8 volts so replaced it. Still won't turn over in neutral. Tried starting clutch engaged in first light crank then 3rd started right up. Any time id stop and go into neutral it would die out but if I stayed in gear clutch engaged it was fine. Note throw out bearing had made noise past 20000 km. Looked under the truck never saw any leaks while hitting starter after 400 km drive I find this. Trans fluid everywhere. Wondering if anyone has any insite or just rip her out the trans check seals do clutch while in there. looking20240921_184834.jpg 20240921_184826.jpg

I don’t understander Uber the truck, or rip her put?
You said 6 speed manual transmission, not engine oil leaking under the truck? You check engine oil?

Red oil usually is automatic transmission fluild. What transmission your TRD Sport is, manual, or automatic?

I’m not really sure what the question is. If you’re confident that it’s gear oil then the transmission has to come off to replace the input seal and the clutch now as well. If it’s engine oil then the transmission has to come off to replace the rear main seal (probably) and the clutch. Seems easy enough to sort out by sticking your finger in the fluid and checking the fluid levels of the engine and transmission. Your battery shitting the bed is a separate problem.

Just trying to see what people think it may be I know I'll probably be ripping the trans out. I just don't get the not starting in neutral snd ony in gears and stalls in neutral

Do you have the clutch pressed when trying to start in neutral?

I have heard redline products causing transmission failures. Not sure if it’s the viscosity of the fluid or just a bad product for the transmission. All their other products are fine . My guess is it blew a seal .

I’ve never heard this before and a lot of people use Red Line. Where did you hear this?

If you watch that video there’s nothing wrong with his transmission. He’s recommending Red Line both in the video and in comments. I can’t explain the title. It doesn’t align with the content. Can’t find anything else online including Amazon reviews which are usually among the most critical.

Have you removed the fill plug on the transmission and verified it is low?

Hey ya so turns out the backing plate behind the flywheel plate turned 6 bolts and was somehow smashing into the crank anytime I pushed the clucth. Got a new motor coming to me and clutxh pretty pissed at 162000. The oil wa leaking from anytime the cluctb was engaged between. The crank and rear main cut a grove in the safety switch inside
