As the title states, I'm looking to upgrade my 08 with a new stereo. I pulled the original one out years ago and replaced it with a Pioneer AVH 3800 that I bought from another member here on TW.

The Pioneer has been fine but it never had any type of maps or navigation, and has recently been crashing when I try to change Pandora stations. Maybe it just wasn't cut out for more modern iPhones, maybe it is just done. Either way it is time for an upgrade.

I don't mind the idea of one of the big screen Joying units (or equivalent) but want something reliable and of good quality. I don't really want to break the bank, so I plan on keeping the stock speakers and sub - I want to just replace the head unit.

I'd really appreciate advice and suggestions - the TW crew has a lot of shared experience and info. Thanks in advance.

Head to Best Buy or look at crutchfield.

As phones get updates every few days, your radio essentially never gets an update. Radio manufacturers spit out software updates maybe once every few years, and only for the newer models. At a certain point the phone software gets a chance for and the radio no longer talks to it properly.
