3rd Gen and some 4th Gen Tacos use the inj fuse as source for adding LED's to grill. This is another source for fused ign for same purpose

I have the inline fuse for the lights ,but since I have 3 AUX switches I just hooked to one of those. If late I need the three switches oi will connect with inline fuse like I had on my 21 pro.

The route I took. insulated 14-16g female spade is a perfect and tight fit. some heat shrink for good measure. Then tapped into the back of a dash switch with solid 20g wire to gain the illumination circuit. Used the OEM ground bolt point immediately next to the brake master (the one to the right that is on the wall, not the one to the left - it was further away from the fuse box).

What is this? The corner wires are the switch illumination.

Twisted pair 20g solid strand "bell wire". The red is stripped and inserted into the backend of the beige crimp/port. The white is stripped and inserted into the backend of the white crimp/port. Gives me a "tap" without cutting, slicing, or t-tapping the actual illumination circuit. It's a trick I used in my prior vehicle as well. The step after this was wrapping electrical tape around the wires about 2" back so that they can't shake loose. It works so well and so cleanly.

Other ends of Red/White bell wire are connected to the ILL+ and ILL- on the light bar switch. I'll take a photo when I have time to pull it apart again, forgot when I had it open.

Thought you were using illumination wire as fused source to relay coil...:burp:

    hahahaha. no.
Ground, Power, and Relay came via Diode Dynamics aux wire harness. Then bell wire taps provided ILL circuit support. Combined gave me all five wires of the plug harness :)

At first everything worked, but the switch light was staying on non-stop. Quick call to Rave and they confirmed that I had the hot and relay crossed (hence the revision notes)... All the more reason I was happy I went the wire nut route and not the crimp route!

Bonus (con?) to the approach I used:
No factory wires or switches were altered
The grille light has full time power, so I can turn it on even with the truck completely turned off.

Please critique me & verify I’m not missing anything or not a good source…
Opted to use the 5 amp ENG – IGR-1 fuse slot…
    Acceptable in assuming?
Was basically trying to find a remote wire for my auxbeam six switch controller….
Wanted to find a Remote source that wasn’t hot after vehicle was shut down…
There was a few other options, but clearances and polarity / clocking the connector due to the add a fuse connector became an issue…

    I did it.....:thumbsup::yay:

In the next few days as wiring & controller comes in, Ill install as stuff comes in...
Few weeks later, entire front clip gets to come off.....
Not looking forward to it, but I did that for a living...
Had to replace thousands of active grill shitters & radiators, engines, etc, where front clips had to be removed.....
