I am coming up for air. I haven't taken any crazy road trips, but it is getting cooler and tempting.

My wife is still hanging in there, TPN (total parenteral nutrition- IV feeding), blood transfusions, and Albumin infusions. Her PICC line is getting a workout. It keeps her going, but that body keeps trying to shut itself down.

Meanwhile, I've been bad about getting to my doctor's appointments, as there are never enough hours in the week.

I'm trying to keep up with exercise, but my cycling has fallen off. I usually do cancer and Alzheimer's rides in the fall, but I haven't put in my miles. I like the 100-mile options, but I normally ride that during the week. I just haven't had the time to get rides in.

Take care, everyone, and hug your loved ones!

Good to see you’re back. Sorry about what’s going on with your wife. We all go through a lot of shit as we get older. Hang in there, God bless.

Turned 67 last week, and one of my Baja book projects has failed to get published (yet). So, I decided to let others enjoy the pre-pub version... at least some sample pages, maybe just over half of it.
This is a Road Guide to Baja California... primarily away from the border and cities... places my Tacoma likes to go!
Have a look if you go to or would like to go to the land where the TRD Off Road program with Ivan Stewart was put to the test!:

A small strip light I ordered came yesterday... it will go into an upper kitchen cabinet. If it works out, I'll order a few more. We've had cheaper ones for years, they work well to light up those dark areas, but the batteries eventually corrode and ruin the fixture. This one is rechargeable, auto on-off. We need more light, as we age gracefully. Wifey says it's good to think ahead at our age. I totally agree. I like to plan tomorrows work while watching commercials on evening tv. I think differently about time, as I age gracefully.

Tom, prayers for you and the wife.

Good morning. Off to a non-mandatory Chief Judge training. I have a feeling this may be a super busy Presidential Election. All the external factors point to a busy early voting and election day turnout.

The spareribs came out great. Enclosed pic is the ribs right before I took them off for a foil wrap. the internal temp was 172 degrees.

Good morning from hurricane land. After the 18" we got at the farm from Debby last month...there are still many areas that NEVER hold water, still holding water from Debby. Aquifers must be full. This one looks like can go through our area at the farm in Suwannee county or our home in St. Pete. I'll be doing storm prep today at the farm, then driving down to St. Pete to get the boat as high as it can go on the lift, tie it down and clear the patio. Goodness...

My heart goes out to you two. Take care of yourself so you can take care of your wife.

Apparently this is a bad year with all the hurricanes. Stay safe!

A beautiful day ahead here. Mostly sunny and 78*. 48* this morning! Soon it will be time to winterized the sprinkler system and the little Casita. I foresee in about 3-4 months I’ll be whining about the cold! In the in between time, I love the fall! My favorite time of year! Best fishing and of course hunting season. Great time to spend the day outside!

Oh yes…and the trees are changing! Beautiful time! Our Honey Locust out front.

Chuck: You are going to like retirement a lot.

Good morning. Kind of a low key life when getting a haircut is the highlight of the day's activities. ;);)
