I am running on 265/70/R17. I would like to replace the tires with 245/70R17. Can I simply put 245 tires on the existing rims? TIA

    FWIW,
If you want to keep your speedometer reading close to the same, you should go to a 245/75R17.

Assuming that your speedometer is correct now with the 265/75R17.

245/70R17 Error would be 57.9 mph actual, at a reading of 60 mph on the speedometer

245/75R17 Error would be 59.8 mph actual, at a reading of 60 mph on the speedometer
