Hey everyone I have a stock 2011 sr5 tacoma and I was wanting to get a set of kings from accutune. I was wondering if I just got the kings it would level out everything without the need for raising the backend. Now I do have a camper shell on it so i'm thinking either get a block for the rear or just removing the camper shell and put back on the tonneau cover.

Assuming you're looking at King 2.5 shocks, you can adjust the height to whatever you want. Just don't adjust it higher than 2" if CV joint longevity is a concern.

I'm not a fan of the "leveled" look, so I would say lift the back as well (an add-a-leaf would be better than a block, however a block that is less than 2" generally won't cause issues). If your rear leafs are old/tired, I'd suggest new (lifted) leaf springs for it.

Call @AccuTune Offroad and ask them, they are super helpful. But I'd be willing to bet that your factory leafs are sagged like crazy already so I would highly recommended replacing those. Kinda a waste to put tuned Kings on while still keeping the garbage OEM leafs.

Now if I just want better road handling do you think theres a cheaper option for coilovers?
I had in mind the Bilstein 6112.

We have some cheaper, yet still really good quality (tuned) shock options. Something like this would save you a bit of money without compromising a ton of ride quality. Actually I think these would ride smoother than a King setup.

Depending on how much weight you add in the back, we would typically recommend at least an add a leaf.

Would I need to replace my UCA with the Foxes? and will the Foxes be good in winding rounds I live where theres tight curves and I'm trying to eliminate body roll and improve on road handling.

Now what about these? Would I be able to keep everything close to stock and not have to lift anything in the rear?

For the longer 0-3" coilovers, we recommend aftermarket UCA. This has more to do with shock travel than lift height. If you really wanted to stay at a lower lift height in front and avoid the UCA, you could get these. Body roll is more of a sway bar thing and shocks can help smooth things out. There is always a compromise with making a shock too stiff that handles well on curves, but will end up being too stiff on other things. Our Adventure Tune, with stock sway bar has worked great.

These front King coilovers are extended travel, so you would need an aftermarket UCA. I think the min lift height on these will be at least 1-1.5". The rear, really depends on permanent weight added. If you have little to no weight added in the rear, and don't want to lift the rear, then leave it alone. I think if you left the rear stock height and added Kings to the front, it would sit pretty high up front. We may recommend swapping springs in the front.

If you really want the best of the best, then Ride Shocks would be my next suggestions.

Just curious what makes the Ride shocks the best of the best when compared to Fox and Kings.

Great question. We dive into great detail here. But a quick summary, these shocks are designed to fit certain weight ranges (from added accessories) out of the box. No need for custom tuning or spring swaps (for coilovers). The rear Tacoma shocks are probably the most unique since we have 4 different options, also based on weight. Where these shocks truly shine, is on the street & off-road. We did not take a race shock (stiff for aggressive driving) and make it fit a Tacoma. These shocks are truly application and weight range specific. Quality is very comparable to Fox and ride quality/comfort is above them both. 3 year/50k mile warranty will back everything up. For some applications, Ride Shocks can actually be cheaper than Fox. If you are after comfort and open to a new brand Ride Shocks is definitely worth checking out. Happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

Yes there are cheaper options than big money Kings that will perform great on and off road. Bilstein 6112 is a great budget option. Another is Dobinsons IMS (or MRR if you want to go bigger) - check out Exit OffRoad to find those options.

Ok so I read on Fox’s website that the performance elite can be used to level the truck.
So would it be ok to just level it out for now and later down the road get a new deaver leaf pack ?

Sure, you can do this in stages. The rear shocks may be the bigger issue since those are lift height dependent and not adjustable like the front. For example, no rear lift you would want the 0-1.5" lift shocks and for 2-3" lift you would want these shocks.
