2017 Tacoma SR5 V6 2WD 119,000 Miles. I've had a front "click" sound coming from my front suspension since at least 50,009 miles. I only hear the click when I'm traveling low speeds going over speed jumps, approaching a steep driveway, etc. I've read a lot of threads talking about bolts to replace, but it looks like a lot of those commenters have beefed up suspension components. I'm running stock suspension SR5. Here's a video (sound didn't come out as clear as I had hoped). Any suggestions?

I think this has been discussed/addressed in other threads .... something about replacing a bolt or tightening it ....

On occasion, I'd say about 30% of the time I get this as well on my 2021 SR5 when pulling out of the driveway that has a small dip where
the driveway meets the street, or when navigating over speed bumps. Appears for me to be the front left side.

I'm not sure it's anything critical to worry about but if there is an easy fix that can be described at the pedestrian level ( ie: no mechanical skills )
    I'd like to know.

I'm running stock and have about 20,000 miles on it.

Sounds like maybe a LCA bushing or front shock lower bushing is toast?

Could be a loose splash guard or a number of other things also

My OR has done this for a while. New lower bolts didn’t help. It was explained to me by someone else that the spring seat is glued to the shock from factory. It sits on the clip of course, but somewhat loosely, so they glue it. Over time bumps from the road eventually break the glue bond and you get the seat moving around making noise on bumps. It’s harmless but annoying. The explanation made sense to me. I haven’t done anything about it. I did have a loaner for a few weeks a few months ago and it was nice to not hear that incessant clicking.

Some people say the bushings go bad in the shock but I don’t see how or why they’d go bad so quickly. Maybe on aftermarket.

Have the same sound on my 2021 TRD OR. I'm not concerned and just plan to leave things as is.

Do you know if there are quick struts that can replace the OEM ones and are as good or better quality? That click is super annoying to me.

Toyota sells it as separate coil and shock. Maybe something aftermarket, but not stock. The guy that explained the flaw to me says that removing the perch and putting some electrical tape around the shock body can make it silent because it takes up the slack that lets the perch make all the racket. I haven’t tried it because I don’t feel like taking it all apart. My right side doesn’t seem to make any noise.

I did try the full width shank 4Runner lower shock bolts and they didn’t help.

With these, can I use the stock spring? I've changed strut/coil assemblies on a car but not a truck like this. Can I just lower the control arm, slip out the spring and shock, slip on the new shock, slip on old spring, then raise the lower control arm with a jack to the 0 lift position on the shock to install? Or, do I need one of those spring compressor tools?

5100s are designed to reuse your stock coils.

It is definitely sager amd easier to mount them up using a spring compressor.

After that, installation is just like car struts. Doable in your driveway

    None
Curious if you found any resolution yet. I have the same issue and am planning on replacing with 5100s.

I got a sticker and some cool valve stem caps...
This is the process I used exactly. Had both sides done in lil over an hr.

If u mainly drive on the street with a bit of offroad the 5100's r awesome. Truck is more planted and less floaty.
