I said I would never do apartment life again, but here we are... I absolutely love the apartment I'm in now. Never hear my neighbor's, plenty of luxuries I wouldn't have with a house (pool, hot tub, roof top terrace, dog wash, dog park, free grills, pool table, and a gym), views are great and whenever something fails I call maintenance and they take care of it quick and at no cost to me. Only negative so far has been no place to work on my truck besides parked on the street. Honestly it fits me really well right now. Having had "normal" apartments, and now this "luxury" apartment, it opened my eyes to how nice of a place and apartment can be.

If money wasn't a concern I think I could be real happy in a quality apartment complex with an off-site workshop/garage.

My dream right now is a two-car garage with a loft apartment above it. My neighborhood is zoned for dual dwellings and there's a place down the street just like that. The main dwelling is 100+ years old at the front of the lot with the new-construction garage/loft accessible by a dirt alley to the back of the lot. Being in the middle of the block, the garage/loft is surrounded by trees and very private..

Who's making the mounts that go around the vent controls and there's another one I've seen that goes in the blank spot where the passenger airbag lock switch would be.

I need a good phone mount option for running my maps but most of the good mounts require sticking a mount to the phone case and I don't want to deal with that on my phone all the time.

I'm also looking for a good solution for holding my GMRS or (also considering upgrading to a vehicle mounted radio)

No, I have an android that's not even a Samsung so buying a specific phone case for a mounting system probably won't work for me

Ah damn. I have a magsafe mount in the truck and the daily, love them.

    Pre-magsafe days I used these: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-CHGeek-Charging-Windshield-Dashboard/dp/B08D5XJTJS?crid=2UK8CYHKWZQPA&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.RD54y_wFmerGGmV-yIgrMlz8uU5hnlwH0Bc_8Ou5UJkRCAB8wKKfEDykCi_mT2w0yt6-a6vmDoVW-C05bFNCIWtQSFKllzlyogPhzK1pmcrFG7tVo0YAvj0XjiO33S1TRsp5OWg6jpCqUkYSIUHZXK3DAEuWZvniJoN-xyw6ONIeXr81sbmKBpBljzZpFsnddhnCCOB83IPbDi3kWV4iA3OsRCxZSe2A2dJZjukHC0g.ooYb_Q5B9FJ5aETckhy43PmE4cZ_d3dPOApd5OcuIB0&dib_tag=se&keywords=phone+mount+wireless+charging&qid=1727217767&sprefix=phone+mount+wireless+chargin%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-3&th=1

The bottom piece of the phone mount is a switch that activates the mount to grab your phone from the sides. Wireless charges too. They break after a couple years, but they're cheap enough that it never really bothered me too much.
Suction cup mounting is unreliable, especially in the southwest heat, but I've found if I put the suction cup on the windshield, then put the mount arm so it rests over the edge of the dashboard. That way the weight of the phone is acting like a lever on the edge of the dashboard, pushing the suction cup up into the windshield. Never had the suction cup fail when used that way.
