Another thing I don’t need or fully understand but want, sub zero equal length pipes to go with a new exhaust. Looking through that thread and @908tacoma welding work looks awesome. Waiting to see how the 3rd gen stuff looks. Might make it easier for the reroute too.

There's a slight deeper tone when punching it, but on cruise control nothing noticeable. I was going to go with the TRD cat. Even with with improved header, my truck doesn't move fast enough for it to be too loud haha

URD makes really nice y-pipes… with and without cats. I’d love a set without cats, just need to find a way around the CEL. Can’t have the truck failing the emissions tests MD requires.

which header did you use? I didn't realize that you have a 2.7, can you tell me about the "tune" that you used? I'm back and forth about getting rid of my '15 4 banger, the pathetic lack of power and horrible seats are my main dislikes about the truck.

 

Went with LC Engineerings header and Overland Tailor Tuning. At the time of tuning, I had the tent on the rack so went with spiciest setting when using ect pwr and second spiciest with it off. Those two along with the elbow delete mod, changed my mindset from where you were at to most likely keeping it forever.

 

any odd quirks with the tune/ premium fuel requirements? Ballpark-ish cost for a tune? I see tat there's 1 authorized installed in Ellicott City.


Different subject all together- can anyone recommend a good drywall contractor? I need to get a spare room skim coated, I'm never going to get to the project at the rate that I'm getting things done. Its time to get some estimates and let a pro do the job.

As far as I'm tracking, it doesn't require premium fuel. They suggest always going to "Top Tier Fuel" gas stations, but after more than a year of having the tune, I don't pay it too much mind. I wanna say the tune was 500/600?

 

That was how much I paid for my tune a few years ago; right around $500. That was KDmax though, they’re merged with yotawerx now. Hands down the best money I’ve spent on the truck, and I’ve spent alloottt of money on the truck lol

I just a heads up..... had to have my AC compressor replaced. AC stopped working the beginning of July and it took them over two months to get me a compressor. Just dropped my truck off at the dealer Tuesday to have the work done.. they said that there's a massive shortage on AC compressors.. I wonder why that is? I guess compressors are going up in the Tacoma's. Little research I found that there is a sensor on the compressor which locks the compressor up when the sensor goes bad but the dealers won't replace just the sensor. They require replacing the entire compressor the sensor attaches to.
I have a 2017 with only about 90,000 miles on it. If not had the extended warranty, it probably would cost about four grand to replace. The funny thing is I never really used the AC, so for it to go up that soon is crazy.. Has any one else had problems with their AC

 

I’ll be there with a buddy. Staying at a minimum on Saturday night but planning on being up there late Friday.
