It's less Tacoma and more mod
They still have the drill pump, it's a tenacious little thing. Kill a good drill battery pretty quick

Super basic, just need to pick up another T as well as a check valve.

    20240926_160958.jpg

The T will be placed nearby under the second drain and act as the split for both a drain and refill.

Coming immediately down from that T you'll see an inline filter followed by a ball valve. I'm implementing the ball valve here after filtration so I can close it when water needs to keep from draining from the water bed.

To the right of that is where a check valve will go facing up towards the water bed to act as a means to refill. This is where the other end of the T will connect to (along with the elbow).

Ignore the second ball valve. With the check valve in place I won't need it.

Will have plenty of PVC pipe left after this.

Just a heads up, @ljerr2 is offering his powder coated set for sale.

I know people are patiently waiting for me to catch up on their batch, but I'm still waiting for more parts to arrive before I can continue making sets.

Just adding a plug for a set already finished.

So, an update to the saga.

A member wanted to sponsor me a new torch mount, to show me the benefits of what his product has to offer.

    20240927_090630.jpg

It just came in today and I'm pretty excited about it for two reasons.

The first (and main reason) is the clamping style of this mount versus my existing one.

The mounts are made to fit specific torches and are sized as such.

    20240927_090811.jpg

The stock one I've got uses a V style clamp, which results in these "pressure points" when clamped down. The only benefit to this is that it can accommodate a wide variety of torch sizes.

    20240927_090756.jpg

Now, I've never had any issues with this style clamp but know of plenty that have.

I've ensured that newbies that join the hobby know not to apply any real force when clamping their torch head, or avoid clamping the head altogether (if possible). Certain brand torches have internal moving parts which can easily be damaged if they're tightened a tad too much, which is possible with the V style clamp.

The second benefit of this new mount is the implementation of lasers. A lot of people use 3D printed add-ons, or make their own offset mounts, but this torch mount accommodates two lasers for quick and easy zeroing.

I never used lasers, and never felt like I needed to. That is until I had the tip up incident some weeks back when I got to cutting the very first batch. Post found here

I had a tip up (normally avoidable) but it happened so fast and it threw off my zero forcing me to throw away parts for two sets. Had I been using lasers, I would've been able to zero back to my original start point.

Here's the torch inside the mount.

    20240927_120904.jpg

    20240927_120858.jpg

On another note, I did find a bit of binding in my Z axis mount. Called up Langmuir to see what parts I might need to order exactly and they said "we'll extend the warranty for you" and opted to send me an entire new Z axis assembly.

So, new torch mount in hand, and a new Z axis assembly on the way, and this thing should be running better than new.

    Sounds good!

If you decide you want a different set of exterior brackets, I'd be happy to provide a different set for free.

Just to treat them the same as if you bought them from me.

I just have the most shit luck with FedEx.

My welding tables from last month, the added 1 week delay, was because of FedEx.

I was supposed to get my Z axis assembly tomorrow yet it shipped from Texas to Tennessee so...probably won't see it until next week :bananadead:

It DOES say it was sent to a hub there, but other tracking history skips TN even if it came from TX for some reason :bananadead:
