The M2 I was considering did. There was absolutely no room under the hood.

I really think that it should be against the law for police to used unmarked vehicles for traffic enforcement. As everybody knows, in August 2023 I was pulled over by an unmarked green Dodge Charger of the Warrington Township PD that looked absolutely nothing like a police car; Amanda was still living with Emily in Ambler at the time, we had seen a late showing of the newest Indiana Jones movie, and I was driving home to Warrington after dropping Amanda off in Ambler.

It was probably 1:30am when this Charger first appeared behind me a little over a mile from my house. I stopped at an intersection where turning on red was not allowed, and when the light turned green, I turned right; by the time I got to the red light, I knew it was a Charger based solely on the headlights, but it looked nothing like a police car.

The Charger then proceeded to aggressively tailgate me, and I sped up to put some distance between us; I did not know it was a police car until the red and blue lights came on less than a mile from my house. The cop told me that he’d pulled me over for “swerving and speeding”, but I didn’t get a ticket.

There are two unmarked Chargers utilized by the Warrington PD, neither of which look like police cars. One is green and one is dark red. They even have civilian wheels rather than the black steel wheels that even unmarked cop cars seem to have. They are black wheels, but just standard wheels you’d find on any civilian Charger. The dark red Charger also has black racing stripes.

There have been complaints on social media about the cops driving these Chargers driving aggressively and even trying to lure drivers of performance vehicles into street races, then promptly pulling them over.

Today, Amanda and I were driving to work and the dark red Charger with the black stripes was parked in the driveway of a mansion that is being built on the Bucks County side of County Line Road. The car has deeply tinted windows, and anyone who doesn’t know it’s a cop car would assume it’s just a Charger that belongs to a construction worker doing work on that house.

I 100% support the police, but I feel like the local cops have become a bit too aggressive about trying to catch speeders. They’ve added a lot of red light cameras and put up “NO TURN ON RED” signs where turning on red was previously allowed, and they’ve lowered the speed limit on a stretch of near my work from 45 to 40 MPH.

That green Charger in the screenshot is the one that pulled me over in August 2023, and as you can see, it looks nothing like a police car!

I had two back to back trips. One to get my daughter her motocross bike and the next day was to Nebraska. IMG_5484.jpg

I don’t know how I missed this comment back in April…

The emblem on the blue station wagon seems to say “289”; I thought was a Ford engine…?!?!

My main issue is the manner of driving, be it a hot rod or anything else, when they're obviously trying to cause a problem where there is none.

I have an in-person interview at Fred Beans on Friday, October 4th; I would love to have it sooner, but that day is the closest weekday that I have off from my current job.

Things have gotten a lot better with regards to scheduling and shifts in the nursing home kitchen, but people still call out at random and it really fucks over the entire team. If I do not get the warehouse job at Fred Beans, I will stick it out at this job at least through the holidays.

Also, something happened recently that really pissed me off; I stream an AM radio station called 990 The Answer on my phone for the first half of my shift, and two of my favorite shows on Fox News for the second half of my shift; I also listen to music from iTunes if there’s nothing good on the news. From the time I started working here, earbuds have been allowed as long as you only have them in one ear…

I do not technically work for the nursing home, but for Sodexo which is contracted by the nursing home to do all of the foodservice stuff. Direct nursing home employees, like the nurses for example, are not allowed to have headphones of any kind. Apparently, people who for the nursing home (not Sodexo) complained about Sodexo employees having headphones. One of my supervisors told me that, specifically, it was people wearing DJ-style headphones who ruined it for everybody else.

The issue here is that (A) I spend more than 90% of my shift down in the kitchen (which is in the basement) and generally don’t have contact with non-Sodexo employees, and (B) listening to the news and/or music helps me relax and work more efficiently; I raised a stink about this and as of right now they are leaving me alone as long as I don’t use my earbuds outside of the kitchen.

One lesson I am learning here is not to take another job where I am working for one entity that is contracted by another entity, because it effectively subjects me to the rules of two different companies!

I work for an entity inside an entity, you just have to push back or break the rules of the one that doesn't pay you a bit more creatively. Also stop listening to the news, there's gotta be something more productive you could be listening to.

There was another warehouse job at the Uline warehouse in Allentown that seems to have been spoken for, but here is another one that appeals to me. If I don’t get the job at Fred Beans, I am going to apply here. Yes, it’s in Allentown, but for that kind of pay I would be willing to commute!

They either expect a lot of OT or a rather generous bonus because that hourly math ain't mathing to that yearly...

It’s only two shows on 990 and two shows on Fox I listen to, and the only reason I stream them through my phone is because my shift at the nursing home doesn’t end until two hours after the ones on Fox end, and I want to have time to watch other shows I like when get home; I also listen to music. A lot of my coworkers have Bluetooth speakers and there are no less than three cranking the musical preferences of their owners at any given time prior to about 4pm; I could buy a Bluetooth speaker, but I would rather be able to drown out the music of my coworkers.

I know. It includes bonuses. Base pay before bonuses is $50K-$60K per year; I was hoping to go back to NAVMAR (where I worked from September 2019 until I got laid off in October 2023), but they just laid off another employee and I don’t think I’m going back in this lifetime. I still have a 401(k) with a decent amount of money in it at NAVMAR, and Sodexo offers a 401(k) plan. However, I don’t want to go through the process of transferring my 401(k) from NAVMAR to Sodexo if I don’t plan on staying here. This was never intended to be a permanent job, and it is really starting to wear on me; I would rather work in a dealership warehouse processing car part orders than wash dishes, and Fred Beans has generous benefits including a 401(k) plan, so I will more than likely be transferring my 401(k) from NAVMAR to Fred Beans if I get this job.

Because of my disability (autism spectrum disorder), I am on my dad’s health insurance indefinitely. My dad was in the Navy for 25 years (1982-2007) and still has TriCare through them; I have coverage for everything but vision. In order to stay on my dad’s insurance, I have to apply (and get denied) for SSDI; I have always made too much to money to qualify for SSDI, and I am not up for review until March 2026. By this time, I plan on being where I want to be career-wise and having health insurance through my employer.

At this point, I am also 99% sure that I will be marrying Amanda before the end of the decade, and if she has a job with good health insurance then I will just go on her insurance as her spouse.

The bonuses probably come from picking more than a specific number of orders without making any errors.

All this talk about work makes me humbled that I'm retired. :anonymous: Most of my friends retired in their early 40's. I was the late one of the bunch at 49.

Here's some pictures going over cottenwood pass and crested butte.
