Documented my modification journey to my 3rd gen tacoma and mpg compared with new land cruiser 250 and FJ cruiser, also some offroad footage of my stock height truck at rausch creek offroad park. Sit back and enjoy!

When removing the stock one, I appreciated that Toyota added better “convenience hooks” (the things you hang them on to get the first bolt started) to the steel plates than they had on the first gen Tacomas. Either that or I had just banged my stock plates up so bad that they didn’t work right. Many a time I worried about dropping that thing on my face when I tried to re-install it after doing work under my ‘02.

A couple last minute purchases before next weeks trip. Coleman grill and a battery box for my fridge. The second battery box is for a buddy of mine.

I caught a vulture with my 3rd gen on the way to work this morning.

Only damage is the grill is broken in a few spots and some clips where it goes into the surround. Nothing behind it got damaged thankfully. I got lucky it hit where it did. Little left might’ve been a headlight, little right might’ve been the TSS sensor. Pretty damn stout for hitting a big ass bird at 55ish.

Soooo….WTB your 2020+ TRD OR grill

It just so happens that I have that grill sitting in my garage. DM me to see if we can work something out.

One of my OEM mudflaps is busted off. I need to replace the whole set since i cant seem to fin one right-rear OEM mudflap. Is there an advantage to those Rekgen mudflaps? They look more flexible than OE style.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
They are better than OEM because they are flat so they dont hold the snow or mud in. They are a bit flexible but not like the 1st Gen that were made of rubber.

Probably an opossum or some other rodent, there wasn’t much left of whatever it was. They all scattered and this smart guy flew right over the ditch out of the road then decided to go back left with his buddies as I showed up.

That's an aftermarket storage thing, I have one. It's just an empty space inside, you could probably fit two pair of glasses in there in soft cases.

I was shocked too. I really thought I’d have more shit broken behind the grill but these grills are more stout than I would’ve guessed. I was watching my water temp gauge like a hawk.

I offered it to my coworker but he declined. So he may or may not be floating down the river at this point. The bird that is, not my coworker

I got it from BAMF I don’t think they make them anymore. It doesn’t light up. I have changed the background color a few time with just plain vinyl.

Birds are hollow-boned, like the small raptor-style dinosaurs. They seem bigger when you try to corral them because of muscle.

Yeah he wasn’t that heavy. Hollow bones keep the mass down for easier flight.

Put myself in line for a bed side panel. When I placed the order there was around 1500 on back order. Anyone else waiting on one or recently received one?
