    Hello,
I recently replaced some parts on my 2.7l 2006 Tacoma and I am having issues with a code P0038 (O2 heater control circuit high (bank 1 sensor 2)) coming up.. I had my catalytic converter stolen, replaced that and ended up redoing my exhaust system.. replaced the down and upstream O2 sensor.. I replaced the downstream with a Denso OEM and foolishly replaced the upstream with an aftermarket.. could this be the issue? I've checked for exhaust leaks, reset the codes, checked the fuse.. doesn't seem to be any of those.. has anyone else had this issue or know where I should start first? Thank you for your time

I'm thinking the majority of replies you'll receive here will be to replace the upstream one with a Denso, and go from there.
Hang tight, others more knowledgeable than I, will be along shortly.

It's either the sensor or a shorted wire, that code means the heater circuit is drawing more than 2 amps (should be closer to 1 amp). If the sensor came from Amazon/ebay I'd be highly suspect of it but easy enough to check with a meter.

So the downstream is Denso OEM.. the upstream is aftermarket.. and yeh, i got it off Amazon.. is it possible to get a downstream o2 error from a faulty upstream sensor? Thanks, i'll test tomorrow.. i hope they didn't mess up my wiring when they cut off my cat
