    Hi folks,
My beloved 2012 is getting long in the tooth, especially the rusty steel (16") wheels. I'd like to step up to 17" aluminum wheels like these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CVRGMXD?smid=AV9WWMI9Y3DD1

Can I do this without ill-effect? Would I need a lift kit?

My search fu isnt working today, so please be kind if this has been asked a thousand times. Any help/advice would be so nice! Thanks!

Tire size will determine if you need a lift kit, not wheel size.

They’ll fit, but I’d try to find some used OEM ones vs those aftermarket branded ones. Might save you a headache once you go to balance your wheels/tires

I'd start checkingthe FS section here, Facebook Market, and Craigslist for a set of takeoffs. You'll likely find a set of stock alloys with tires for around the same money.

Where in NH are you? If you don’t mind the off road version I know where you can get some cheap! OEM no tires or tpms

The door label on my '12 tacoma only lists 16" as options. I can't find anyone that will put 17's on, i.e. Walmart, Townfair, Tire Warehouse.....

Take the wheels of your choice into the shop and simply have them put the tires on the wheels. Take them home and put them on your truck in the driveway. They're afraid of the liability issues if they put something "not stock" on your truck.
