i stated that not so much for a concern with the fluid you're running, but because once you've been using the fluid for a while, the metal grit starts getting nasty as well...

also, if your shutoff is supposed to be at the top, your filter is flowing backwards. there should be an arrow on the side to indicate flow

that said, i really like the design of the banjo filters slightly better. sort of like the 3rd gen oil filter canister, it's got a pre-drain for the center section, which is not only smaller, which makes it easier to catch, but also allows for slightly less mess during filter cleaning operations.
    https://www.banjovalves.com/products/1ppystrainerwith20meshssscreen

they also are slightly shorter lengthwise, with female pipe fittings instead of male connections of the rainbird version, which might work better for your setup as well.

i would also suggest running a 90 to turn the system forward/backwards, into the shutoff, then continue back, keep the filter horizontal, then post-filter, you can use a short 90 to drop down and into the tank.

reason being, those filters are happiest/fullest-draining in the horizontal position--also easiest for maintenance/cleaning when using a catch pan underneath them to reduce later cleanup.

and while you've already got a lot of it fit together, i would really suggest using long-sweep 90s for everything pre-filter
    https://pvcpipesupplies.com/3-4-pvc-schedule-40-sweep-90-elbow-socket-406-007s.html

that way if anything gets accidently sucked/dropped into the tube(some mesh across the pan openings could prevent some issues as well), it can be more easily fished out or through the pipe system. where the short 90's you've got now have a potential for gunk to get trapped, and can cause more frustration.

Nothing is glued, I only took quick pics for @zippsub9 but this is the correct orientation

I like that filter you linked, looks legit

Though I can't really picture the rest of how you described the layout

It doesn't need to be complex, just needs to be cheap and work well for a few years (2 or 3)

Hadn't considered the long 90's at all, will have to see if they have any at HD (which they should)

Intent was to use some sort of pre-filtering (like scotch brite pad right at the drain or similar) to allow only the smallest sediment to pass through to the drain, but those longer 90s would help if sediment rests and builds up in those elbows

4 bar sink drains installed in each 'panel' of a Crossfire XR here.. but missed your question.

    https://www.amazon.com/Everflow-7552-Bar-Prep-Sink/dp/B01GIKR5C6?th=1

The above are used without the filter basket.

My table and water are filthy but there's no diaphragm pump to fail. Also I use a 55 gallon drum on it's side so the fill port is a few inches from the bottom guaranteeing that sludge and debris just remain in the bottom.

    New torch mount, who dis

    20240927_090630.jpg

So I was provided this mount so I can utilize the benefits that the attached lasers can bring

    20240927_090652.jpg

The only con I can find with this mount however, is it's best feature

These mounts are torch-specific once you look at the clamp

    20240927_090811.jpg

Reason being is because the V-block style offered by Langmuir applies a lot of extra pressure at specific mounts

They use this style to accommodate a variety of torches, which makes sense of course

    20240927_090756.jpg

I've gotta say though, the mount firmly grips the Hypertherm way better than the 4 points of contact provided by the Langmuir

I have a Rural King 15-gallon spray tank into which I directed both drains. I used some Pex and Sharkbite fittings with regular faucet valves. I used a bit of flex line near the tank so I could move it around without binding the lines. I removed the wand from the srapy handle. I use an old battery charger for a power supply for pumping. Takes maybe 5 minutes to refill the table. Sorry, it's dirty :D

Not the cheapest, but it works for me.

    Ha, same tank I'm running!

Yeah I plan to go through the lid as well (most likely) for a drain

    I dig it, thanks

Seeing that setup working makes me feel better about only going 3/4" for mine.

Bought another "T" and mocked up the drain two different ways -

    20240928_174125.jpg

Thinking I like this one better with the ball valve up top since it means less water will be sitting inside the pipe -

    20240928_174306.jpg

Also got a 1/2" barbed NPT fitting that'll replace the plug on the reservoir this way I can run a soft line from the tank, to a water transfer pump, and up to the return line.

Will need to go back one last time to see if I can find a 3/4" x 3/4" x 1" NPT threaded T so the inline filter can thread directly into it; this will save me an extra 3-4" in length so I can use the big drain up top otherwise I'll have to drill a hole somewhere on top for draining.

Bonded washers arrived, but my stainless bolts and nuts haven't yet. And still need to order a pump.

I took advantage of the one day sale that, Harbor freight is having and picked up there 27" roller cabinet. The plan is to turn it into a welding cart that will hold the TIG and MIG machine along with the bottles. the drawers will be nice to hold the various consumables and fixture and layout tools I use at the welding table
