I was convinced and got one a couple years ago. It was absolutely horrible. Mine was black label which I think is called series 2. Worst bourbon purchase I've ever made

I was out mowing the grass, then sanding down a couple of table tops so my nose was off. Going through all 3, surprisingly, I was really off put by two of them, and really none of the three was something I’d consider great. Funny how a blind can fool you.

    (1) Redwood Empire lost Monarch Cask strength. Higher proof, sharp, vanilla, corn, raisin, seems to need more age. Got better with the 3rd tasting. Initially I didn’t like it.

    (2) Pursuit United Bourbon, a bit hot initially, nice mid palate. Vanilla wafers, brown sugar, clove, orange peel, possibly some black pepper. Lingers mid to finish.

(3).Hidden Barn, Batch 5. Barley, hay, peach, malty, kind of single note like a single malt, lingering rye taste, harsh, not good. After 3rd taste, it was better, but carries over corn liquor flavor that needs more aging, odd notes.

    WINNER. Pursuit United!

Think I had the small batch IIRC, no clue what batch. But yeah, terrible. Would have been a drain pour had I bought the bottle.

House survived another storm. I don’t know if my hunt camp will. Oh well, hopefully everyone makes it through safely. Cheers.

What’s the price at the distillery now? I bought Weller at BT a few years back and it was $19, I know prices have gone up but it’s crazy what some places ask now.
