    I have 157,000 miles on my 2015 Tacoma V6…
Ive never flushed the brake fluid, i do my own oil changes and brake pads and drums, spark plugs and serpintine belt, I replaced the transmission oil, the radiator fluid and steering fluid. So far, my Tacoma runs excellent!
Ive had zero probs with my brake fluid and reservoir is topped off.
    Seems kinda like an upsale?
Has anyone had probs from not flushing their brake fluid?
I want to get at least a few hundred thousand miles out of the engine and more if possible.

Don't know what the manual reccomends but I've flushed brake fluid every 2 or so years since ownership. It's quick, easy and reassurance there isn't moisture in the fluid.

I replace my brake fluid every 4 years. Brake fluid is hydroscopic and absorbs water.

I honestly blead mine only because i had to put new calipers on mine. I upgraded to dot 4 and noticed some improvement after. What happens is brake fluid overtime absorbs moisture. So, your truck being a 2015 like mine and never had it done, I would personally. Just have a 2nd guy their to help you. Thankfully these trucks are easy to work with on that and do not require scan tools like the gmt900 and up gm trucks. Rule of thumb is change fluid every 2-3 years since it absorbs moisture. I personally noticed improvement. But thats my experience. Just figured id share with you since you asked.

In the long term, leaving contaminated brake fluid in the system will corrode metal components in the system. Anyone who has ever worked on old unmaintained cars or bikes will remember the cloudy gray/blue/green stuff that comes out of brake lines.

I think it is a no-brainer. It is cheaper and easier than all the other things you have done (other than needing a 2nd person to bleed it the old fashion way). I have 2012 with 87k and I just flushed mine for the first time last year and I thought it braked better afterwards (less spongey).

I’m going to get some of the speed bleeders mentioned in this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/brake-and-clutch-fluid-maintenance.837294/page-2#post-30146819

The link goes to the last post where the part numbers are for those. But read the whole thread.

Very easy job to DIY, but you must absolutely ensure the fluid level does not drop to empty and suck air into the system.

Watch a YouTube on it. Search for Tacoma break bleeding, although the process is about the same for most vehicles.

I use the motive power bleeder, worked great and it’s a one person job. I also change out my bleeders when I do it just to be safe, front bleeder valve: 47547-04010, rear bleeder value: 47547-12040.

Thanks for everyone’s input. Im gonna do it.
I appreciate all the Tacoma enthusiasts!!!
Tacoma’s are reliable and well built trucks! I am a contractor and use it for carrying heavy loads = Tools, rack and ladders and supplies etc. Its my mini shop on wheels.
I Just changed my oil approx 4 hrs ago.
Changing all fluids regularly will or should make them run for 300,000 - 500,000 and maybe more. The engines are built well.

Hi Everyone - hoping everyone is well.

I'm in the same camp as others - change mine and frequently. I live on the westcoast B.C and we do get a lot of rain / moisture. I would suggest picking up a brake fluid tester first and to measure the moisture of the brake fluid. If it is more that 3% then change it out / flush the fluid. It's just that easy....always a good to have a couple of cold ones while working on the Tacoma.

Best to you all - go team TW !

I change mine every two years or so. I've been told (possibly an opinion rather than fact) that it helps prevent sticking calipers along with the other benefits.
( no moisture in the lines)

your absolutely correct....I take the opportunity if I'm flushing the brakes to also service the brakes. Why not....I'm already up to my elbows into it now.....
How do you put a price on peace of mind?

I don't flush mine either, but what I’ve always done when I do a brake job is replace the brake fluid in the reservoir with fresh fluid. It’s a multi step process - remove brake fluid before starting brake job; push in the caliper pistons to remove fluid that is pushed into the reservoir; fill reservoir with new fluid; install pads; top off reservoir after pumping the brakes. I will do a flush only if I open the system.

Have I had problems from not flushing

no because I do it like you’re supposed to. Not hard. Some manufacturers call for every 1 or 2 years.

just did my friends truck on the floor.
