the problem is the fact that it eats up rubber fuel lines that are mot ethanol resistant. It is real hard on the aquarium hose found on chainsaws and weedeaters.

Should have bought a Sithl then you wouldn't have to go through all that! The only 2 months my saws don't run is Jul and Aug too damn hot. Only fuel we have around here is av fuel at $5.49 a gallon that has no ethanol. If I'm going to pay that kind of money for a liquid it's going inside of me!

I concur. My truck runs like a raped ape on pure gas but the problem is the only non-ethanol station in my area charges almost $4.00 per gallon while E10 premium is only $2.65 right now.

E-0 prices are all over the place around here. Here in Memphis about .50 higher per gallon (only a couple of stations have it). In a couple of small towns near here - .20/gallon higher. In one small town about 70 miles away a station is even with their E-10 competitors at 2.70 a gallon.

No ethanol in Pemex (Mexico) gasoline (yet), and with heavy loads and driving fast, I still get better MPGs than on California gas in an empty truck driving the speed limit! 17 vs 19 mpg (E10 empty vs E0 heavy)

    Jtweezy, yes it is.

I use E10 99% of the time unless I put my motorcycle in the storage then I would fill her up with fuel with no ethanol + fuel stabilizer. Don't ask me why :).

My local E-0 station in Wenatchee WA is out due to a pipe line closure... Anyone have this going on?

You guys using 0% Ethanol that is Top Tier Gas or not? I see a few stations up here but they're not Top Tier.

    Just Curious.

Let the debate rage on! My anecdotal yet scientific input: 308 miles, 15.9 gal. 10% ethanol = 19.8, 150 miles highway the rest city/country mix, 30's for temps, 07 Prerunner DC, SB, V6 auto. Been burnin' the stuff since the Govenor mandated it in state vehicles back in the '80's. Only had one vehicle, Carbureted 460 F350 Ford that revolted as some of the carb diaphragms where not compatible.

Yes I use E-0 top tier Conoco but I have to haul it in from 80 miles away.

Paid $2.99/gal the other day for "non-ethanol" 93...

UG doesnt show much of an increase. However, my mpg has quit dropping compared to the normal 93 I run at almost $4.00/gal since winter has began.

Holding steady at 17mpg's still. Truck does run amazingly better though :D Less down shifting to 4th on highways.

Beware - at some stations the E-0 comes from a different source than the E-10. While the E-10 is top tier, the E-0 may NOT be. Around here the only wholesale source is a small distributor, and he delivers to any retailer who wants it, regardless of what brand/off-brand their E-10 is. All depends on the additive package mixed in when the fuel truck is loaded.

Thank you for sharing, but all Conoco is top tier regardless of "E" rating and Conoco does not sell gas from other brands.

To the OP, yes it does. In everything, not just a Toyota V6.

I don't bother chasing e-free fuel for the vehicles, however, I absolutely do so for the small engine family, ie yard equipment and generator. e10 is fine in them if you run them at least weekly. But sitting long periods will cause repairs (usually carb kits) to be needed.

OTOH, it's well documented that it takes more energy to produce E fuel than the actual fuel saves (via deferral) of fuel, so its a complete waste in terms of energy independence.

Hopefully the shifting of supply will get congress off it's duff to repeal this E fuel nonsense at the federal level.

I own a 2013 v6 tacoma with a 6 spd. If I run alot of ethanol based gas I get a 50 to 75 rpm change with the clutch in and engine idling. Do not know why but it does it. running ethanol free gas engine does fine and gets a little better fuel mileage. When truck was still under warranty Toyota replaced all injectors which did no good. Since then I always buy ethanol free gas. engine runs good. The only thing I can come up with is combustion conditions of ethanol based gase are a little different, this may not be seen with autoamtic and torque converter.

While we’re on the subject of fuel, a good friend (RIP JM) who worked at a refinery and was a good mechanic, told me about adding diesel to your tank. Not to be done in the winter. Called poor man’s high octane.
I would add 3 litres/ tank, add diesel first, gas next so it would mix. (Diesel floats, get it in first).
I used to do this religiously.
Supposed to give you better mileage/higher octane.
Don’t really remember getting better mileage/better performance, but did it anyways.
Haven’t done it in awhile, but will try it again now that I remember this.
Do so at your own risk.
    YMMV
