I opted not to purchase the extended warranty for my 2017. Going on 7 years now with minimal repairs. :fingerscrossed:

    If anyone is wondering,

One leaky battery, one third brake light tsb and one HVAC blower wheel stripped out. All covered under warranty.

I went on 3-month bitch fest with Toyota corporate, went through different dealerships, filed multiple complains from April to July 2023. Finally they told me they would pay for the parts(~$120) and pound sand.

I fixed it myself at home in the end. Dealer quote was 13.5 hours of labor, total $2400.

2023 TRD sport 6MT with 16000 miles, I also opted to not get the extended warranty and got it refunded after briefly purchasing it from Jerry Johnson (I had bought the 10/100k). That’s why I bought a Toyota in the first place, for reliability. I took the $1360 I spent on it and reinvested it into my Edward Jones account, so far I’m up at least $1k. If something should break after the 3/36 and 5/60 factory warranty (which is a few years from now) that little pot of money will have grown significantly enough for me to pay for it out of pocket and still have more than enough left over.
On my previous truck (2019 Ram 1500) I definitely bought an extended warranty… and from reading the Ram forums it would have been a wise investment - it appears those things are problem ridden.

FWIW, for those of you who do want to buy one - Jerry Johnson is the man to talk to. Absolutely seamless process and he is a true gentleman.
