I bought an Autmatch hitch tightner for my B&W hitch, I installed it and the plate barely catches the edge to tighten it down ( about 1/2" ) it does tighten it perfectley but if it were to twist slightley whild towing it would slip off the overall length of plate is 3".

Are there any plates that are 3 1/2" in length that are available that anybody is aware of?

How are you attaching? Have a picture?

U-bolt should be on the tow bar and as flush with the receiver as possible; a little less than half the plate should be against the bottom of the receiver.

The 1st 2 pics would work but about impossible to get nuts and washers on.

The bottom Pic is the one that works..but it barely catches the receiver hitch.

it will be fine. The nuts on the bottom is the correct position. It will stay where it is.

Pic 6 is how I’d mount it. Plate doesn’t need to contact the hitch. The u-bolt pulls it down and the plate applies pressure to the receiver
