I took my 2014 toyota tacoma to my local shop to get a coolent flush bc I noticed the reservoir was dirty. They forgot to put the radiator cap back on... I drove it the rest of the day and when I got home I decided to take a look in the engine bay to see if they did anything about the dirty reservoir. And there was no radiator cap and coolent everywhere. No overheating that I noticed and the reservoir is reading invetween the full and low marks (where it supposed to). So did they overfill it? It also said on the bill they put universal coolent in it not the toyota coolent that it says to only use in the owners manual. Will I be okay just buying a new radiator cap at the parts store? I use the truck for work it's my only transportation I need it for Monday and there closed Sunday.

New radiator cap and top it off for now. I'd do a drain and fill with proper coolant asap though.

Put a new cap on it and drive it. If you're a little low in the reservoir after driving it some take it back and tell them to top it off and reimburse you for the new cap. A new cap is under $10. A gallon of premixed coolant is $15-$20 depending on where you buy. You will only need a cup or 2 if any at all. I wouldn't buy a gallon.

If it makes you feel better, you could add a few cups of distilled water to finish toping it off if it's a little low. A gallon of that is about $1.
