I have been searching around different forums and am curious if anyone here has any good products to recommend for tire cleaning. I have heard of Wesleys Bleche White with varying degrees of success and simple green but would like to hear from folks who have been using products for years with no dry rot. I will likely use 303 protectant afterwards to deter UV damage. I ask as I recently purchased Michelin ltx ms2s and would like to preserve them.

    Thanks in advance.20240713_175831.jpg

Wesleys Bleche White was a great tire cleaner once upon a time, but not any more. When McGuires purchased them they must have changed the formula. I was a die hard Wesleys Bleche White user for many decades, but not any longer.

I belong to many detailing forums/groups, and the best tire cleaner I have found so far is P&S Brake buster. I buy it in a gallon container, dilute it 1 part Brake Buster to 4 parts water, and put it in a spray bottle. Spray it on the tires and wheels, let it sti for a few minutes (without letting it dry), scrub with a stiff brush, and rinse with a hose/sprayer.

Depending on how dirty your tires are, it may take more than one application to get them clean.

I use Wesley’s. I don’t know of anything else available in a retail store that works better.

I also use P&S Brake Buster. CarPro Retyre is a very close second.

It's pretty hard to beat this stuff. Spray it on, wait a couple of minutes then agitate with brush and watch the grime and "blooming" disappear as you rinse. Bam, your tires are new and the rubber looks fresh again. This also works on many other surfaces too.

Purple Power works great on rims.

The best process I've found (that works for me at least) is being consistent with cleaning... goes for wheels, tires, entire truck, etc... If I'm able to hit the wheels and tires at least once a month, diluted Meguiars D143 works great. If it's been a few months or there is heavy buildup from off roading, P&S for a pre-clean prior to the diluted D143 is a solid two-step process.

I have been detailing for 40 years and have tried many different products but a wire wheel cleaner will beat anything hands down. Spray it on and then follow with a mild soar sprayed onto the tire. Scrub but use a bristle brush and rinse quickly, don't let it dry. Follow up with a nice tire dressing. I use Shine it.
