I am no mechanic but like to to as much maintenance tasks as I can because we live in a rural area and the Toyota dealership is far away and many of our local mechanics are super busy and often cannot get you in for weeks. I recently changed my transmission fluid on my 2020 Tacoma and I have just a few comments...WHY does it have to be so difficult? Why cant there simply be a drain plug and a dipstick and you could knock this out in 30 minutes or less. Why do car manufacturers have to make the simplest tasks so difficult? Anyone else feel the same way? I have a Corolla and replaced the transmission fluid it was the most difficult of them all since you have to remove the large splash guard under the car and take the drivers side wheel off and the splash guard off by the wheel just to get to the fill plug... Why?

Just curious if others feel the same way. I own Toyotas and a Honda Accord but not sure if the Accord is any easier....

Ya its dumb, I was a tech for Ford and hated how terribly designed these vehicles were/ are. That's why I went back to the body shop.

Remember how easy it was to get at the Gen 2 Oil filter? They want you in at the dealerships, plain and simple.

Just be happy you have a 4-cylinder which does not have a PLASTIC coolant crossover pipe. Sometimes Toyota just makes you scratch your head.
